What type of controller will you be using for Elite Dangerous

I've got a Saitek ST290 pro, the only thing I dont like about it is the throttle is mounted behind the joystick and it's a little light - tends to move a bit when I get over-enthusiastic. If it doesn't work out I'll probably go for a Saitek X52.

I think the manufacturers of pro joysticks and gaming mouses horrendously discriminate against us cak handed folks.

No fair on us lefties ;-)

Mine is adjustable to suit lefties and righties :)

I'll be using my Saitek X52 Pro, although I am slowly getting tempted by the Logitech G940 set up. And of course my TrackIR Pro!

Brian :)

Nice looking stick but I have to question some of the marketing blurb on that page:

Authentic controls
Authentic to what?

your controls are carefully crafted to look, feel, and work just like the real thing.
Again, compared to what? Apparently the throttle looks a little like the A-10s.

Wind shear, buffeting, turbulence, and g-forces—you feel it all with force feedback effects that raise your game.
Wind shear and turbulence? Yeah, maybe but G-Forces? How?

Still, it has got some very good reviews. The SimHQ guys quite like it, which is where I normally have a look for this kind of thing.

Thrustmaster 16.000M. Or any other JOYSTICK. Playing ELITE with something else is a profanation :D

i shall be using a pair of these.

Type of controller

CH Products HOTAS (Fighterstick, Pro Throttle, Pro Pedals) and TrackIR. Never quite got my head around the controllers on those console things. And the CH stuff takes a serious beating.

I use an Xbox 360 controller for Oolite on my Mac and find it works great, so I'll stick with that in the ED beta test and see how I get on!

Maybe an XBOX360 controller as I already have that and am used to the controls. But I REALLY fancy a force feedback joystick when it's time. Just hoping some new high quality ones will be launched by the end of the year :D

I have the 360 pad aswell as a cordless logitech joystick and will try all possible control devices in the game and will decide then what is best for me in elite

Depends on what kind of controls they will implement. But most likely I will mostly play with trackpoint (or mouse when I have access to that) and keyboard.

But since I've started using Win8 and is about to get a laptop with touchscreen I really hope they will implement a good touchscreen control also. Then I'll probably use that quite a lot as an alternative.

Keyboard / Mouse and a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 Joystick for flight control.
Always used a joystick of some kind to fly the crafts in Elite anything else would feel wrong for me.

But am looking at replacing my aging joystick with a full flight controller with foot pedals.

"asx,./ " for flight
"1234" for in flight views
"m" for missile
"e" for ECM
"h" for hyperspace
"g" for galactic hyperspace
"j" for jump

but if it works ok:
