What type of controller will you be using for Elite Dangerous

to answer post one, I'll use my:

Saitek rudder pro pedals,
thrustmaster warthog sticks,
track ir5

just thinking, wouldn't it faster/better controle of the ship with mouse/kbrd?

I purchased a x52-pro, the week before I upped my purchase to PB. Have not used a flightstick in 20 years. Loved and hated it. Now just love it.

As of 5 minutes and some beer ago I will now be using a Warthog.

Impulse buy on tinternet.
Currently on sale for £249 at box.co.uk

I have a dusty old Logitech "Extreme 3D Pro" that I will attempt to use. It wouldn't be a beta test if I tried the latest greatest devices...:D

Hopefully my good old Microsoft sidewinder

Works great for fine throttle control for choppers in bf4

Hope translates to elite

Sorry if this has been asked but:

Is anyone using the PS4 wireless controller? To me it seems the perfect choice for these reasons:

- designed to work with PC and OSX (especially compatible with OSX)
- doesn't hog desk space
- wireless

Why is everyone raving on about the Xbox controller?

Last I heard it gets picked up but doesn't work properly and there's no official drivers.

I rave on about it because I think it's much better ergonomically than the PS controllers. The PS4 one is better, but still not as good as the Xbox 360 controller - the PS4 controller STILL has convex sticks, so that your thumbs slide off after a while. Plus the 360 controller just fits my hands, and works flawlessly in Windows (the wired version) without the need for any extra drivers.

I have to admit, though, that the dpad on the 360 controller is a crime against humanity. I've never seen a more worthless piece of plastic. Maybe the new "twisty silver" dpads are better, but I haven't tried those. But it works for non-critical stuff, I use it for translation control for landing.

Saitek X52 Pro for me. I love this thing!

I also got to fiddle with an X55 at LAVECON, but to be honest, I prefer the X52 Pro!

I initially played with an XBOX 360 controller back in the Alpha days, but playing with a good stick is soooo much better IMHO.

i'm running a PS3 stick.... but... NOT on ED.... for that I have other controls ^^
I miss (or just can't) fine-control the PS3 controller... it's too immediate for me. Luckily on the PS3, GTA5 has auto aim ^^ I switch also under Watchdog (PC) from mouse and kbrd to the PS3 controller when entering cars.

But as said, for Elite, I prefer my 'real' heavier controllers ^^
