What's the next moneymaker?

Again, you’re not reading what I said. Let me spell it out in simple terms you can understand.

I’m trying to get to elite in trade rank. That gives me two choices: space-trucking or passenger missions. As I pointed out several posts ago, I find space-trucking dull. I don’t find Smeaton runs dull because they remind me of commercial aviation. That was why I “preferred” it over trading, not why I did it. I did it for the trade rank boost (46% entrepreneur to 65% tycoon in 4 days).

Do you get it now?

So you did it for the money, gotcha.

So much salt from private play and solo players. Why does it matter how people play the game. You are salty because people could actually progress in the game. Who gives a rats .

They caused the nerf bat to be applied across the board, affecting everyone else, that's why.

...

Now haulage isn't for everyone...

I remember trying hauling bio waste from Sothis/Ceos back to the bubble quite some time ago... Yep FDev nerfed the Fk out of that too. And it never paid as much as passengers iirc.

I'll have to look into hauling again if I can summon the will to start the game back up.

I’m more hoping for another shortcut to an Elite rank. My trade rank jumped up to 65% Tycoon (yet for some reason my Inara signature still won’t update here, despite me updating it on their site days ago) doing Smeaton runs and will likely stay there for a year now because I find conventional trading to be dull AF.

You might need to disable your signature in Inara and then re-enable it. Supposedly it can take an hour to update but I've seen it not update at all in which case, disable/re-enable will do the trick. You also might need to clear your cache as I'm seeing your signature showing a trade rank of Tycoon.

It is. Try trading in open at a CG though - adds a little spice - even in a maxed out cutter I find it at least a little bit exciting for an hour or two.

Funny how we always end up with a quick money making scheme that's even worse/more lucrative (depends on your view) than the one Frontier nerfed before. :)

LOL. Can you imagine the carnage, if killing a PVP ship resulted in dropping a "nuclear core" worth the value of the rebuy of the killed ship or something? There would be blood everywhere...

I can.
I can also imagine the forums, the mountains of salt, and even more when it gets nerfed...

Arent they overhauling the missions in beta anyway?

My humble opinion:

Combat/smuggling should pay more than anything per unit of time. The higher the risk, the higher the pay.

People could get a bonus for time played or ranking but nothing excessive otherwise there is no danger on throwing Anacondas at Thargoids all day (Space Counter-Strike).

Get rich quick schemes also create cool toys clubs among newbies who in turn ignore 90% of the content. I started playing last month and if I really wanted I would have a Corvette by now. Only some wont wing up with me due to not doing that.

No online game would allow newbies to just rush to top tier equipment unless they paid extra (coughEAcough).
