Where is the patterning?

These features look annoying, but I'll always feel like I'm ahead if my Elite game looks better than this:

So,

The planets are supposed to be tiled or something, I saw a video and people keep insisting that the planet textures are all off.

Has anyone been to one of these super not good planets or moons? Cause the ones I'm seeing look fantastic.

I've got plenty of beautiful screenshots of gorgeous looking atmospheric planets. And then I also have these.

Plenty of examples to find all over, you just need to fly around a bit.

I was thinking to get the specific rock names, someone said Deciat so I'll check that out. See if different rigs capture different views.
You just got several "rock names" in the screenshots. It's down on the left. Go there, confirm yourself. Then please edit the OP if you changed your mind.

That's in Kremavi as you may see from the pics, and it's not depending on settings (sadly). You can even set it at Ultraforcapture if you fancy so, it's a structural problem of the new planetary tech, and one not even they know how to solve for the moment (or the time being, if you like your glasses half-empty).

Lighting now on high. Was medium. Both on high now and no more invisible rocks.
On that note the surface rocks are cool. Now that their visible, all of em. Some of them are jagged looking.. but all the planets I've seen ans landed on so far have no jagged surfaces. By that I don't mean the detailed boulders I'm talking about the mountains and hills all being rounded smooth etc.
WE NEED MORE JAGGED MOUNTAINS

The invisible rocks are still present. Now added invisible plants as well.

Wow - you cannot unsee it. I wonder what they can do about it. You can some times see the plates / edges / seams in the radar when you land sometimes.

First picture is hard to see because of the angle, but I THINK I see a couple of repeated features, The ELW is irrelevant as we cannot visit them, but the other planets you show in the mid pictures, do you want to have a look at them again or would you like one of us to point out the repeaters?
I've been to quite a lot, to be fair. Planets can look great, sure.
Also flying to one of the "Asset" points look great too, even if I can visit the identical large scale feature on another section of the same planet and even on many other planets.
But, there's no denying there is tiling on a large scale happening.

nicely annotated!

You're welcome to draw on stuff if you feel up to it. Personally I'd expect craters to be about as similar as anything.

I agree some sections of planets have similarities, my 2nd cracked planet has several similar sections but it could be aphasia.

I want to see some of the super obvious ones though like the other post had where one feature repeated all over the surface and that I'm not seeing in any of my travels.

So I've asked folks to provide names, and we got some. I'll take a look. I've noticed that as the resolution changes on approach some features that looked similar stop.

From the first posts I saw on this issue I had the impression that it was widespread and nearly comical.

So since I wasn't seeing it I posted the last 4 or so rocks I'd been to. If the point is there is some subtle repetition, ok in a video game I'd expect that. Its not something to get bent out of shape over.

If there are some great example I wanna see em. I think I have enough info to hunt some down, just have to finish up with family so I can fly again.

You have been provided with examples, if you don't see any repeating patterns then that's pretty inobservent because the planets are made from templates & some repetition is inevitable.

OTOH if you subjectively don't think it's as big a deal as others (I don't) I'm not really seeing any point in you continuing to badger those that do.

Clearly the patterns exist, and appear to be more obvious to more people than they were in Horizons.

Honestly the longer EDO is on the market, the more obvious it is that some users on this forum are purposefully ignoring the problems when faced with them.

I went to a few duplicated points on a planet and they where pretty much identical, sometimes affected by elevation differences, i.e when one is in or on the edge of a crater, or blended / faded with an extra asset.

They are not something you have to hunt for, but sometimes they are also not all that obvious, which is good.
Surface scanner doesn't do that any good though, when it highlights them perfectly. Just one big grid of repetition.

Perhaps they were referring to the textures visible in these pictures? These were taken before the most recent update. Areas with POI or biological features had a different texture that seemed to be polka-dotted on top of a base layer. The photos were taken on either side of the boundary.

Yeah,

See how the actual planets aren't listed in that post?

Like I didn't list mine either but I'm not seeing any patterns repeating either. Only that high contrast planet comes close. So where can I go to see this patterning?
Why are you trying to disprove other players complaints? If there is a problem experienced by some, what's in it for you for that problem to be fixed?

Please show me where I have badgered anyone. I've been thumbs up voting posts that showed the repetition.
