Horizons Where's the clock

Yeah a clock somewhere on the HUD would be appreciated, kind of surprised that this isn't in there already. If we're expected to look at our own clocks, then at least convert to our local time zone on the mission text!

A clock in the HUD has been asked for many times and almost from the start. Still no clock in the HUD. I guess 'don't hold your breath' is what I'm saying.

yes the buckyballers have been on at fdev to get a clock on the nav panel for ages .. Itd revolutionise the sport. sadly.. no dice. maybe some day.
the cynical part of me suspects this is something like the lighting in casinos.. don't tell them what time it is.. let them keep playing.
the optimistic part of me says they just haven't got round to it yet.

Welcome to the half baked nature of these timed missions they didn't bother to even put a proper mission clock, sure you can look at the galaxy map but it won't pretain to the mission nor does the information on the side pannel. Honestly the whole timed mission should have been held off untill it was properly implemented with a mission specific clock support to track the mission. I mean at this point the mission could actually go past the specified time but you'd never know since its so hard to track.

I don't think this is going to make any of you happy but...

YOU ALL HAVE A WATCH, CLOCK &/OR PHONE!

What is the problem with using them?
Why do today's gamer's need to have everything on the screen in front of them?

Look at the mission profile - it even tells you how much time you have left to complete it.

I'll make it easy for you, the game runs on UTC time - real easy to look up and work out the time difference between you and UTC - Job done and no developer was dragged off the next big update/bug fixes to add a clock.

I wonder how on earth some gamers manage to play games like BF4 or CoD with their total lack of clock.

A bit difficult if you are using a VR headset.

:D
easy as that! I see the trouble with VR (It could be an option) but for myself: I'll just buy a clock, adjust it to game time and place it next to the screen for easy access. Better than cluttering up the UI with more information.
I feel a bit stupid for not thinking about it before now.

First of all some people use VR and with the consumer versions hitting this year this is becoming more important than ever. Also not everyone lives in Britain and doing conversions on the fly while focusing on the game itself isn't as easy as you might think for everyone. Also the Mission clock doesn't tell us exactly how close we are to the time frame just the time untill the mission expires. The missions also have people being frequently interdicted so forgive me if I can't take my hands off my controller to look at my phone to see something that should be on the damn dashboard while trying to stay alive in the game.

Lastly, its a freaking clock its not that hard to implement, we have planetary landings yet the idea of a dashboard clock, something in EVERY car in the 21st century, is completely absent for some reason. Its not that we want everything handed to us its that we want a common sense thing to be implemented into the game. Your entire insult at the 1990's + generation falls flat when the fact that a clock really has no impact on things in COD or BF4 except for match time limits while in ED the missions actually have target time frames and having a clock would be useful.

Why do you need a clock.. the mission details panel still tells you how longs left doesn't it (not 100% sure as Im lying in the sun since christmas on holiday)

Stop making excuses for the dev's, of course the there should be a clock, when they implemented this type of mission they created a requirement for it.

They also forgot the virtual cup holder for my virtual drink - I started playing in June, not seen anyone ask for a clock in all that time and I've seen them ask for a lot of things. Maybe it just isn't an issue for most players.

VR problem - You have hands, they can take the headset off allowing you're eyes to see the screen.

SOLUTION FOR EVERYONE: Use the Map screen, you won't even have to take you head off to do it. Blimey, it's just ONE button, is that so hard to do?

Perhaps the reason why you didn't see it untill now is because prior to 1.5/2.0 the only timed part of missions was how long untill it expired and not hold package for x number of minutes/hours or find target between x and y time frame of the mission. Also your two solutions ignore the fact that you can easily get interdicted or attacked while doing so especially with the latter. Can you imagine what would happen if someone wearing glasses had to franticly put their headset back on in a hurry one of the two devices is going to break and its likely the one they need to see with. Honestly with the cup holder comment I think your just going here to be argumentative at people asking for a quality of life update.
