Who has encountered a cheater using a hack?

You seem to be quite the aggressive type.

1. No they werent pulled by someone else, they were flying in a straight line towards the Station.
2. I always have 4 pips in Systems when i assume i get engaged. 30% is my lowest wich is thermal. The others are 55% and 57% with some legacyboosters.
3. My Cutter is fully grade 5 engineered and goes up to 470+ Boostspeed.

It's basic skepticism. If that's aggressive to you, tough!

What's the use of recording cheats in video I wonder... Except to get some validation by the forum experts... If support has no other tools than Youtube to validate cheat reports, no wonder you just got a few bans once in a blue moon.

FD state there are not many cheaters, and of course, a lot of cheaters will not be stupid enough to play in open. On the old cheat forums the hackers specifically advised people not to use the cheat in open.

However, based on reactions from some, its like everyone is encountering cheats on a regular basis. Its why i've referred to this as hysterics in some posts i've made, because people are now behaving like there is some sort of cheat epidemic going on.

The cheat devs of one cheat have apparently closed their doors, and they already went dark last year after FD shut down their cheat at that time. I understand there are other cheats out there, i was aware of a paid for one some time ago, not sure if that is still there (not looked). But its not unlikely there are not many cheaters. And after all, i think most of us are people who don't like cheating and won't cheat right?

Just to make this clear, i'm looking for response from people who are fairly certain someone was using a hack. I'm not talking about people who used exploits (like the 5/1 exploit), i'm not talking about people who combat log (through task kill), and most definitely not talking about things that some people call cheats but are not according to FD (menu log). I mean things like infinite shields/hull/weapons/etc.

If you are 100% certain you encountered a cheater, then say that. If you think you maybe encountered someone using a cheat, but can't be sure, then say so (maybe there was lag or something? You're going to have to judge your own level of certainty). If you were destroyed in a few seconds by someone and can't believe it happened without cheating, it can happen without cheating, so don't assume that was a cheater, its was probably just a ganker with a meta loadout.

Personally i can't say i have, but there again, i haven't been in combat with another player for.... hell, a year perhaps?

EDIT: damn, should have said, let's not count Mr Protest Guy, i think lots of people saw him, and i think its fair to say, regardless of what you think of his methods, he went out of his way to be seen.

Also, another point, because i guess someone will mention it, yes there could be cheaters affecting people indirectly playing the BGS or PP from Solo/PG, and yes, they probably could be getting a bit of an advantage there (doing direct jumps to systems people might have to take 2-3 jumps to to do PP actions or do missions), but that's not what i'm asking about here, i'm talking about direct encounters.

We see them on a daily basis but since reporting in this game does little to nothing I don't bother reporting anymore because frontier do not tell you the out come. Now I play rainbow six siege and I see constantly the names of people popping up on the screen getting banned. I think it's stupid we are not told anything.

I'll tell you why, it's because you simply don't care and /or don't even bother to read the reports what are sent in. So will I report cheaters? No, let them ruin the game as far as I'm concerned since frontier are already doing a great job of this on their own by keeping these toxic individuals in the game. Have a great day everybody.

Sunday, the night of the protest... saw a ASP from a well known PVE group hacking, was able to instantly jump and ignore masslock.

Let's make powerplay open only then, and if blocking doesn't work then people can block away and it won't make a difference!

Ive seen NPCs ignoring mass lock, appearing at full health after being severely damaged (see ignore mass lock above), ignoring heat damage, ignoring PP damage, having unlimited ammo, unlimited scbs and chaff, and having the same jump range in a combat ship as I do in my long range ships.

there was also a time when NPCs had crazy maneuverability and rapid fire rails and PAa but I think that cheat has been patched a while ago...but I think some ships are still using some kind if hack to run engineer mods in weapons that shouldn't have those mods.

I think he means that Blocking isn't a 100% guarantee of not instancing with the player. It puts a strong negative incentive to Instancius (the God of Instancing) but it can be overcome by things like Wings, Friends lists etc.

Another cheater popped up in CQC during the weekend. Not quite unkillable, but close. The video is in YouTube. He's been reported.

The funny thing is that the guy couldn't shoot. That's the second cheater I've seen in CQC with the same problem.

It is embarrassing enough to be caught cheating, but it is even worse when you can't even get a few kills. Even so, he depopulated the game mode for a while.

It's the ones that have used the sliders to just 'enhance' their abilities abilities. For example, A few years ago, when I got jumped by a bunch of griefers I thought nothing of it because I knew that the ships were flying within their engineered capabilities. Didn't like being ganked (who does) but knew that my poor asp didn't stand a chance against those ships. I then found out that not long after, the entire group of them got banned (actually, they only got suspended for a couple of weeks) for using the engineering exploit, which would have been effect when I got ganked.

Would it have made a difference? Probably, because my ship could have a good chance of outrunning them because the RNG getting the best level 5 dirty drives was really hard to get back then. I think it was almost a year before I played in open again due to not having the confidence that other Player ships weren't hacked. i'll probably stay in open for the moment and see how it goes but if I come across one of these hacked ships again, then off to Pvt and Solo I go.

Back pre-engineers I encountered a player in a vulture who attacked me at a RES site during a CG.

Despite emptying my weapon capacitor several times into them with two large pulse lasers, the outer ring of their shields wasn't even slightly dimmed.

Quite annoying tbh.

I have. I chased him around in SC at a CG a few months back. He pulled a few CMDRS, killed them and then left the system. Come to find out later that he had been shadowbanned shortly afterwards.
