Why are n00bz so rude... "?"

Wait, you interdicted them?
If was a newbie, I'd be very skeptical about some who interdicted me claiming he wants to help. Interdiction is a hostile action, that's why you get a fine in the first place.

Apart from that, I can think of a number of reasons why they don't need or want the help.
• They're going about a mission/objective/goal and don't want to be forcibly interrupted
• They want to learn the game on their own
• They have already learned a lot of by following many of the great tutorials on the internet and simply want to practice it
• They don't know how to respond / or have it disabled
• They don't understand english
etc.

the hostile act still makes no sense to me tbh... it already damages my ship... why should i be fined as well???

Noob : Quietly flying through space looking at the scenery....

ALERT ALERT YOU ARE BEING INTERDICTED

Gets dropped out of Super Cruise doesn't know why ????

Noob : OMG OMG OMG Hes just dropped out right behind me !
Noob : tries to jump ... Ships screaming at him that he has to wait for cool down of Friendship drive ? WTH is a Friendship drive ?
Noob : OMG boost .... Boost

Ship : Insufcient bla bla in bla bla to boost

Noob : OMG OMG

Noob : I know ! Evasive manoeuvres... flip around and fly past him !!

OP : o7 !

Noob : WTH is o7 ?????!???!

Noob : Flip .. Boost ... Splat !

I'm literally in tears... this is EXACTLY how it went!!! lolol

I got lonely... so I flew to the n00b systems...I thought helping out n00bz woud be FUN!!! But, quickly I am educated to the unexplainable fact that n00bz don't want help. THEY WONT EVEN ACKNOWLAGE MY EXISTANCE!!! I pull them over, gain a fine for my courtesy ( FDEV), and they completely ignore me. I don't understand this behavior. Will someone explain it to me PLEASE!!!???!!!

You forcefully interject on their gameplay and offer assistance they didn't ask for. You see nothing wrong here? You're either lying about your confusion or you seriously need help with how social interaction works and this really isn't the place for such education.

When you're new to a simulator with lots of information panels and a plethora of keybinds to figure out, the comms screen is the last thing you're likely to look at.

"Square + Up to reply" usually follows "o7"

They probably haven't figured out how to talk / use the comms panel.

ED has one the poorest comms channels / set-up I've seen in an MMO.

Yer so true.
Flashing lights, alerts, warnings, ship screaming at you !

This video sum it up :)

WARNING HE SWEARS !

Yeah, that is another thing - when I'm playing in VR, I don't answer comms, because I can't be bothered by typing blind

Love this... have some rep! how do you react when you get "pulled over"? I know I respond with a face full of weapons fire and not a lot of chatter :))

By "pulling them over" I assume you mean interdiction which probably damaged their ships. So right off the bat you're scaring them, damaging them, then saying over comms, "Hi, I'm here to help."

its on the same screen... its called instructions... the NPCs talk on it as well after interdiction... even cops. Thus its very relevant to your post

No, the point is that new players are in all likelihood distracted by all the other things going on with piloting their ship, not to mention the fact that they've just been interdicted by some random, to either notice or bother with chitchat.

You've received some good advice in this thread, but you seem more eager to argue with everyone rather than learn, so yeah. I'll leave you to it.

Aye, ramming someone off the road and then expecting them to be your friend... never going to happen.

Either OP isn't the whole picnic basket or this thread is just trolling.

I'm leaning towards option 2 ;)

Why has Lord Braben gifted us with the interdictor module if he intended us to forego its use? NPCs constantly message us and interdict us. It's part of the game. These are NPCs are programmed by the devs to fulfill their vision of what gameplay should consist of. For some reason folks look down their nose from their high horse when players behave similarly.

Perhaps because interdicting people because you want to interrupt them and tell them you are helping them, isn't actually a positive thing to do.

Stop pushing pencils up your nose.

Even by your own stupid justification, no NPC interdict anyone to then offer assistance.

If you want to be a nuisance to people, don't pretend you are doing them a favour, it doesn't come across a witty for funny or cool, just try hard.

... NPCs constantly message us and interdict us.....

And they don't do it to help us, they do it and start shooting.
So when a new player gets pulled over, they are going to assume they are about to be shot at just like when the NPCs do it.

Of course an experienced player knows this, so pretending they are pulling people over to help them is nonsense.
They can send a message in SC and if ignored just let the new player get on about their business.
Pulling new players over is just for the sole purpose of trolling them and upsetting them.
