Why Does Everyone Use All-Caps For The Asp?

this goes to show that some people just want to find things to argue about. even something is pointless and irreverent as this. I personally dont use the ASP so idc

I thnik you meant irrelevant:D

Irreverant: showing a lack of respect for people or things that are generally taken seriously.

Then again....you could be right :D

Because my boost key is bound to caps lock

(edit, well this was funnier when I wrote it in all caps except the forum doesn't seem to like that and nudges it all back down to regular...)

I think part of the reason because of the other word that has three letters and two of which are an A and a first S. Capslocking the whole word just makes it extra easy to read the P as a P instead of an S.

Why do pedantic know-it-alls always capitalise asp? ;)
Because in this instance it's the name of the class of the ship; for example, in the Royal Navy, there are (were) the following classes of escort carriers: Audacity, Long Island, Avenger, Attacker and Ruler; e.g: the Attacker-class HMS Battler. In this instance, as it were, the Asp-class (though "class" is not entirely accurate) Independent Fruitcake.

What, you mean in the same way that "SCUBA" and "UNESCO" have full stops after each letter???
Acronyms do not have full stops after each letter.

Normally it would, but Contemporary acronyms do not need full stops, nor do they need them if they are special kinds of abbreviations that can be pronounced as words, such as "NASA", this also includes SCUBA.

ASP is not a proper "pronouncable word", so if it was indended as an acronym, it would have to have periods, just like C.I.A. or F.B.I.

For me it was A-S-P Explorer in the beginning because when I played Frontier as a kid I could not speak english and therefore I didn't know it is the name of a snake. The names of the other snakes sound very similar in german.
