Why Frontier are wrong to keep nerfing high credit earning methods.

Exactly behaviour might be unintended, but it did not take player manipulate anything to force it (fly back and force in a game about flying is not unusual), hence it was poor game design, which is not considered an exploit in the wider games industry. And NO a link from Wiki that anyone can update is not confirmation. Otherwise give me 5 mins and I'll make it say anything you like.

Yes it is if it is unintended behavouir, a bug in the system. Hence the reason why it was removed. The main issue with ED is that it is so big that it is virtually impossible for them to test everything. It is nothing to do with poor game design.

You seem to have no idea what is considered an exploit in the wider games industry. Looks like a stereotypical exploit.

Frontier is wrong because the 10% of players on Reddit and the Forums are complaining about the nerfs?

Nah..

They are right to do so, because its their game, and the 90% that don't read the forums and know what a Reddit is aren't complaining.

You got that stat the wrong way round

I agree, the game totally became alive when CRs were no longer a focal point.

IF the game was that empty as to not have any other avenues of engagement other than watch ones CR balance grow and enhance gear/ships, then yes, cramp down on CR
earnings as that's the only game in ...the so called game.

But the reverse is true here and the advanced players know this. They are out there working the BGS, role playing etc and NOT focused on CRs.

These wing missions to move large amounts of goods out as in waste and to as in food pay me far less than solo missions BUT, satisfy MY in game focus more as a role player.
That I have more than enough CRs for that not to hamper my role playing flow, it then enhances and brings alive the game.

The devs do not grasp that they have a VERY robust game for true gamers and continue to nerf ways for them to awaken out of the fog of poverty based gaming.

Come on FD...wakey wakey

Right, 2 Conda’s an hour isn’t what is designed. But something like I have a scan job to do that pays 890K and I stop off at another port and the faction there is looking for the same data and they pay similarly, I should be able to stack them and make the mission pay 1.6 mil for the total of the 20 mins or so it’s gonna take me to get out there, land and scan, and jump and land both stations. The way it is now I gotta go into the target system twice and repeat the longest part of that. Personally I think payments need to be bumped a bit since credits are only maybe 10% of what you need to really get anywhere in the game anymore. You could have billions of credits handed to you but if you’re unskilled, have no engineering unlocks, don’t know where to go and what to do and the best methods to do it, no materials and data accrued, credits don’t mean much. 300mil an hour is excessive. But 10-15mil or so. Not so bad considering all the other stuff you’ll need to do after that (often repeated for multiple ships)

As the person that pretty much kicked off the weekend Gold Rush by posting and sharing the Skimmer mission videos with Down to Earth Astronomy, Yamiks and Mini, I'd like to put my point across.
we usually call this attention who*e: "let me find an excuse to write about myself and my own opinion and why I'm right and you are not"

I don't think this is the case. To quote Obsidian Ant, "for many the game only truly begins when they get the ship they want and everything leading up to that is a grind". Over 100,000 follow him so it’s fair to say he has his finger on the pulse of the community.

Obsidiant Orbital would do very well remembering when he started making his exploration videos one day he crashed in a black hole. The next video was a kind of an 'excuse me all, but after this I'm not sure I'll be making any more videos' and then FD got his ship and credits earned for exploration restored the next day. Obsidiant Ant is this streamer that one day got his graphic card fried and the whole ED forum donated money to get him a new one. There are many things I remember right about OA, before he was a little bit (and let me remark this: just a little bit) poisoned by the 'clickbait' bee and started adding salt to his videos. Maybe these 100k that follow him are not watching his videos anymore (count me in) since the day he stopped showcasing a game and started to be 'a little bit' (and I insist) 'a little bit' opinnionated.

Other than that, you have to admit that you have 0 experience in the game bussiness world and as such your opinion has the weight of a smoking paper.

Oh, that felt good :D

it doesnt take a newcommer long to see a pattern on these forums , almost everyone who approves of these nerfs has the "elite" tag next to thier name. pretty much pointing to the fact they have been doing the forum puritanical war against anything that might speed up progress in game for new players for quite some time.

lets all take a moment to reflect on how lucky we are that these long time "pro's" are around to make sure we all have to endure the full asain style grind fest to its maximum just so we can be as rightous and pure as them when/if we get to a point where we have nice things to enjoy the game.

THis is the meaning of a bug in software: A software bug is an error, flaw, failure or fault in a computer program or system that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways.

The missions were bugged. It is nothing to do with whether players forced it or not. As they are bugged, it is an exploit which has been taken away and will be fixed. It really is that simple.

An exploit is when you use that bug or gltich to your advantage that is not intended by the games developer. Which is exactly what has happened.

Lol..

i suggest you take a good long look at my signature..

it are the Elite players complaining the most.. trust me.

It could also tell you that they know the game pretty good. I almost exclusively fly a Cobra Mk3 by the way.

Exactly. I think all the complains you hear about Elite being an empty sandbox or being ‘a mile wide and an inch deep’ are because people gotta spend weeks hauling biowaste to and fro to get some pocket change before they can even begin to start engineering and all the other good stuff they’ll need to do before they can even begin to play with what the game really has to offer. There’s so much to do! Thargoids, Gaurdians, Formadine, the Conflux, RAXXLA, influencing the BGS in the multitueds of ways available for that, getting to Colonia, Sag A*, Beagle point, unraveling the political web woven by the powers, the several of the deep and ongoing puzzles/mysteries of the game. The list goes on and on. And credits don’t get you there, the other, equally time consuming stuff does.

Funny that, because unless I'm wrong I've been employed within the industry for some time now.

And no I will not say where so you can stalk me down and cause trouble for me there.

It is nice not to have to be the moderator for a change and say what I think, that is true.

So you really think moving forward, shoot, backwards, forward, shoot, backwards, forward, shoot, backwards, and repeat is fun and enjoyable? actually, isn't that who you can play call of duty (forward, shoot, backward to recover health.. ) ??

That's why we're still enjoying the game after these years

If we has everything in the first 6 weeks we would have moved on long ago.

It's only a grind if you make it one, I made my Federation ranks gradually as I was playing the game normally, I raised my credits doing carried activities (not just repeating the same skimmer kill mission, scanning the same data point in Quince or staring at SC screen flying to Smeaton Orbital)

The only bandwagon I got on was the Robigo Smuggling missions, but these were epic fun and you could lose it all with one scan there was genuine risk to the reward and it was only circa 15-20/hour not like these latest trends.

More of that please and I'll keep coming back for years to come.

Because all of us Elite posters have 2 characteristics.

We all agree
Frontier does anything we tell them to.

Yeah. Pretty sure that's how that goes. Well spotted there Sherlock.
