UPCOMING CG Why is this still here?

What makes me sad about this is that while it's okay to remove this feature for apparently requiring too much upkeep, they didn't just work on another similar feature to replace it before removing it.

An entire playstyle, just gone. The universe feels a lot more static with the death of GalNet and CGs, the BGS and PP are not yet robust enough to absorb the playstyle of doing permanent work - new stations, terraforming, colonizing new systems, etc.

Why will they? They were a waste of staff resources. They scraped through at level 1 every single time. Most of the community do not care about them and they're a drain on the devs. Better to focus on other content that ppl actually care about.

Staff resources must have been hard taxed by community goals.

The game generates missions galaxy wide automatically, so why can't they implement a generator for community goals, as far as some basic trade and source or bounty hunting goes just to keep the community stimulated and brought together in the game?

Frontier boasting of a 100 man team really ought not to blow their trumpets so loudly when they let the community down often. I just dropped a response to a thread that hints of the PS4 community not being forgotten over and over with the cobra mk4, yet did they deliver in the end? Nope. Clown move that.

See if you can find a video of the Twitch livestream from tonight (10 September) - you will find that events have been planned with story arcs and major overall arc running through to 2022 - CGs return, as do seasonal events and it all starts next week (as @Flossy says).

Great news! I've been getting my ships up to modern engineering specs which has included a LOT of materials gathering. I also started on a Courier for combat stuff since that's my lowest rank. I hadn't started to get bored yet but seeing CGs come back is fantastic news! I can hardly wait now. I better work on getting my Cutter up to spec for cargo hauling now, too.

Waiting for the new CG to be posted today! Lets hope its an interesting one!
I predict two competing trade CGs, one for Steel Castle & one for Kavanagh Spaceframes, to determine proportion of upgraded Outposts that get converted to Coriolis or Orbis stations. And if they're feeling kind, companion bounty-hunting CGs for each.

Cutter on standby to haul for Kavanagh / Orbis. Although I wonder how Fleet Carriers will change the dynamic of trade CGs...

what would be the differentiation between the 2, are they associated with a particular group?

Just which type of station they deal with Kavanagh specialises in Orbis stations, Steel Castle with Coriolis. Which would point towards players being able to pick their preferred design and haul for that company.
