The door of opertunity was open for anyone that happened to be home AND answered it. Suppose for a minute, a man was to give a million dollars to the first person who answered his knocking on a door. If one chose not to answer for what ever reason or simply wasn't home to do so. Is it the mans fault that he gave it to someone else instead? When the window of oppertunity closes, regardless of how long or wide it was opened; IT'S OVER! Running after the man spouting excuses, serves no purpose, it's done, turn the page, put it to rest etc. etc. etc.
