Considering the bugs we've suffered through with since 2.4 dropped, I think we've earned a free Cobra IV. The "I don't have any bugs!" crowd can also have a free C4, since they've had to suffer the complaining of people like me
I think we need more than one. At last count I made it seven seperate threads by a certain duck about the same graphics issue since September...I think we deserve more than a single ship.

I had five crashes last night in less than an hour's play. Before I even go to the start screen, next to the nav beacon, at an engineer's base, etc. etc. I think I've earned a Farragut Battle Cruiser for the amount of times I've had to go through the blue screen.

I've noticed that most people who say the MK4 is a poor ship are comparing it to the MK3 - if you do then the you will see the shortcomings.
When you look at the Cobra MK4 for what it is, without that comparison, its a superb all rounder. The MK3 is multi-role but leaning more towards a fast combat fit, whereas the MK4 has the slots and hardpoints to be a great choice for a small multi-role ship.

Not sure if this is known or old news but I am playing on PS4 and just had a Cobra MKIV appear as a contact...just an NPC admittedly. I took a screenshot!
In that case ignore me and thank you for setting the record straight!

They are much maligned as being completely inferior to the Mk III but that completely misses the point that they are not meant for the same role.

Exactly, I am not interested in the views of the naysayers. I want to try it myself and I think it could possibly be quite versatile to be honest.
Did you make a suggestion for a CG for the Cobra Mk IV on PS4? The 'lore' explanation would be worth it alone for entertainment value...

I had a look at it and it required A LOT of data I didn't really know how to proceed with. Its quite a lengthy form.
If there is a PS4 faction out there who could supply all the player faction details, system details and stuff it would probably carry way more weight than me making up a load of random stuff for well, me.
I am not 100% convinced FDev would do it either, I mean if it was as easy as that, why haven't we got it?
I actually don't know why PS4 players could not be given the opportunity to earn the Cobra Mk.IV. Are FDev afraid of offending players on other platforms who missed their opportunity. I guess at least those platforms HAD the opportunity.

They should just give us the same option - anyone who purchased Elite Dangerous with Horizons on PS4 before 1st of August or 1st of September 2017 should be able to buy the Cobra MKIV

There a few things that PC and XBox players have got over time that PS4 players can’t get. Off the top of my head
- Cobra mk4
- Canonn CG transfers (or however it was issued)
- David Braben bobble head
None of them are technically difficult to do. The fact that they exist already is proof of that. I suspect that it is just a lore / logic reason why it would be introduced now. With all of the priorities on Fdev’s plate, this is probably v. low. (Unfortunately)

If we, as a collective, want it added, we need to put something in the suggestions thread and argue the compelling case for it to be included NOW. We need to think of it in terms of how could it be logically inserted into the game having been absent for a period of time.

The bobblehead we got (well me personally as well as others, so it is on PS4) from the FDev Expo goodie bag. I would be willing to trade it for the Cobra though!
Which Canonn thing do you mean? The decal?

well cannon have there decal, and the wolves of jonai have just had a decal cg, i just hope one day we misfit's get a chance at a decal

I've always been against the notion of player decals, unless everyone gets one.

Some weeks into the game I had an eureka moment when I realized that just because a ship has hardpoints doesn't mean one needs to use them. I've had just as much fun flying around in unarmed ships as I've had decked out for combat. I suspect this is how I would personally use a Cobra IV. Either that or cover it with turrets and seeker missiles JFF
