Only acceptable answers are “love it” or “best animal ever” any other responses will result in the dangers of my fluffy friend…
If i remember it was over arguments that the red river hog should not be prioritised over the tasmanian devil since Africa already had the warthog.
It is more about what is recognizable for people. An armadillo is.

Honestly forgot about that, yeah the armadillo wasn’t even that requested, it’s just the cutest out of the batch along with the wallaby.
I am not on Reddit so I cannot say how much people hated it. But I take everything from there and Social Media in General with caution. Just because 50 (or whatever number) people voiced loudly against something there must not be a completely hate. Negative Opinions are Always louder than positive ones.

must of been tropical/rainforest speculation that went a little too far. Some of us were really REALLY upset at the idea of a red river hog over other animals.The Armadillo is an example for a weakness of the Meta Wishlist. All Armadillo species taken together were requested (at least within our Forum) and would have ranked around Top 10. But as there is a huge number of Armadillo species and normally people only Vote for one this the votes were spread around all those species the Armadillo seemed to be less requested as IT really was.
The same problem with monkeys. There’s so many kinds that it’s taken so long to get even one in the top 10.
And now theyre both in the game proving that it’s pointless to prioritize one animal over another if they're in the top 5 of the meta wishlist.I don't know
Similar but also different. When I voted for one ore more Monkeys I had a specific species in my mind. In contrast to that at least I Just wanted one Armadillo species and did Not mind that much about the specific species.
I feel like all the meta-wishlists, including the aviary, habitat, and exhibit lists, ended up dying out.
Not as many people submit them, so they don't really get updated. Not to mention that they were popular at 1st because we had a lot of glaring gaps, but now most have been filled, so I think people in general, including here, kinda forgot about the wishlists. Honestly, I'd be surprised if Frontier themselves read it and instead look at the speculation threads for more up to date demand

That’s good for me cause I’m pretty sure I've posted my dream highlands pack at least 50 times by now lol
If this should be the case I would Like to repeat my unbelievable high Wish for the Kirk Dik Dik

But If I compare the Top 10-20 from the old list with the newer list most of the species within this places are the Same on both (Sure there are some exceptions but Overall this still seem to be the Most popular within our Forum). And the Meta Wishlist is one of the few Things which have a quantification of demand. The number of Downloaded mods could be another example but this has to be taken also with caution as there are species without mods and older and Younger Mods.Sounds like a bright future for my feature wishlist.

Regarding the Markhor has the headliner, I think it's quite likely. And I say that as someone who's top two wanted specific mammals are both very good candidates for the Highlands pack. I agree the Spectacled Bear could be confused with the Sun Bear. The Wolverine would have a chance to be the headliner though - would be nice for a mustelid pack leader, but I do feel like the Markhor is more likely. Assuming it's a highlands pack and includes these animals. Now....if we don't get the Markhor but something like the Rocky Mountain Goat (which almost looks exactly like the female Dall Sheep), my guess is they would go with a different animal, for the reasons I mention in the parentheses.
For the other big pack idea, the Eurasian Pack (Wolverine, EBB, Muskox, Walrus, Wild Boar, Wisent and Saiga Antelope), I would say the Walrus is the high profile and recognizable animal, so I can see it being the headliner. On the other hand, I think the Wolverine would also have a chance for this one as well, and in this case, the Wild Boar or Muskox could be used.
@DarthQuell The reason the Red River Hog became Hot Take Hog was some people strongly preferred either the Wild Boar or a Peccary instead, if not both. Which is fine, the reasoning is valid - it's representative of the family from a different biome and continent not already in the game. And I totally get that, it was just a matter of it being overwhelmingly popular anyways because it's visually distinctive with its coloration, and its being such a standard zoo animal. As it is though, I am heavily supporting the Wild Boar inclusion and also definitely want a Peccary to make it in, but the RRH was a priority for me.

Ideal highlands pack would be pallas cat, pheasant, old world primate, x2 mountain caprines, spec bear, and hyrax or marmot for the odd ball.
I know we won't get forever dlcs, but as long as they're coming, wolverine feels like it would be better used selling a tundra pack with muskox, walrus, and rockhopper penguins or a Eurasia pack like the one jcp011c is describing.
