Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I'm kind of worried we won't get musk ox, the only thing it can fit into is a Tundra pack so I hope one happens as a result.
yeah if the winter pack is a Tundra related one, a lot of these highlands animals won't cross over, whereas if it's a Highlands pack it's basically the Muskox and Walrus not crossing over. Which is sad, they're both popular, but from a stronger roster point of view, odds are probably that it's a Highlands pack...
OR, that it's something completely different that would allow for a mixture of the two.

In case of caprines my ranking would Look Like this:
Musk Ox (Not fiting into a Highlands Pack but Tundra), Markhor, Takin, Aoudad. I personally think a Mountains Pack could go well with 2 goats especially as both, Markhor and Takin look very special in my opinion. But if it would be just one I would pick the Markhor. The horns beat the curiosity in my case.

Yeah I see animals of a highlands pack more important than tundra, seeing how we’ve wanted a baboon for a long while, whereas the musk ox and walrus have only gained traction recently.

Simple: Cold Lovers animal pack, or something along those lines

I dunno. The gray fox is more of a woodlands creature, I believe. Personally, while I would pay $10 for a gray fox, most of the community, especially those on other platforms, wouldn't like it. But yeah, I hope that everybody gets their most wanted animal. @nutrit got his Somali donkey, @Swiftie_Midnights_ got her porcupine (ok, Swiftie, are you a him or her?), and @NZFanatic got his kiwi

I'm takin' the takin
HIM lol, i hope for you that we will get the gray fox if you want it! you deserve to feel the same way i did with porcupine!

If we could get the Aoudad, Markhor, Takin and Muskox I'd be very very happy with our caprine roster and I would find it complete. Beyond that I'd love to see the Chamois and Rocky Mountain Goat but thats probably asking for too much lol.

Now I wonder...We all want the WE to be finally used for birds, but as it does not look like it right now, would people be okay with a 3rd bat species? Something like a Vampire bat? Yeah, another bat, but it looks very different from the cute flying foxes and fruit bats. Although, I am not sure they would be suitable for a walk-through, given they drink blood of other mammals.

I wish there was a smaller, non-walkable exhibit for these types of animals...

Well I wouldn't put the Vampire Bat in the Walkthrough Exhibit, but if we were to get stand-alone exhibits that would be able to house them, then yes, the Vampire Bat would be my next go to bat species for Planet Zoo. Ghost Bats are cool species too, but South America should get some love for its bats too.

Flora, Yes. Montane Rainforest are characterized by reduced diversity and biomass of woody plants with increased numbers of epiphytes, ferns and mosses. With higher altitudes also conifers are starting to appear (right image) and leaves of deciduous become smaller and thicker.
Generally, for example matschie's tree kangaroo uses this environment and especially mosses to camouflage itself in trees. And thick fur protect it from colder temperatures in highlands. Afterall climate of new guinean mountains is apparently temperate. Vastly diferent flora than in lowlands.

So hypothetically speaking, the Matschie's Tree Kangaroo, or the Goodfellow's could appear in a Highlands Animal Pack, given they both live in the New Guinea Highlands.

As Planet Zoo enters its fifth year of development, the community's desire for birds has never been stronger. But since the advent of wishlists on the forums, birds have seen a lot of division and delegation - flying birds aren't allowed on the Meta-Wishlist, habitat birds aren't allowed on the Aviary one, and so far.

To better assist Frontier in understanding what the community wants in all things avian, all bird barriers are being broken.
This wishlist designed for users to express their wants for ALL birds - habitat, potential walkthrough exhibits, flying, flightless, webbed foot, whatever. If it has a beak and feathers, it's eligible.

RULES:
  1. All users may submit 25 birds (no more, no less, 25).*
  2. Votes for generic birds are acceptable. You want a mallard? Vote Mallard. BUTyou want a duck but don't care what kind? Vote Duck.
    • NOTE: Try keep generic votes with at least some level of specificity:
      • Vote for "Duck" or "Goose" or "Swan" - GOOD.
      • Vote for "Any Waterfowl" - BAD.
  3. No extinct birds, apologies to the dodo.
  4. Any issues or questions, you come to me. Someone in the forum giving you problems, you come to me. Need to make said someone "go away", you come to me.
  5. Have fun.

@Veah what would be your roster

Honestly, given how needed birds are for this game, I wouldn't really care about which species as long as there are many species, as much as possible. I'm putting up here the bird meta-wishlist, one species from each of the first 25 groups would be amazing and barely enough at the same time.

It would be nice to have more rodents in the game. I visited Vienna zoo this year and they had a very cool "rat house". It was dark inside and there were 3 exhibits for the domestic rat, the giant luzon cloud rat and the gambian pouched rat. They were very active and you could see them very well. It was awesome ! Never heard about that. Very cool
Guess who’s back? Orkan’s back! Tell a friend!

That dentist visit was awful and I never want to go back.
Oof, I hate the dentist, too. I have wisdom teeth they wanna pull, but the teeth aren't causing any kind of problems
