Honestly, I think it was just the color scheme coupled with wishful thinking. LOL
I never said it was logical, just where my brain went...
12/5 would be very early, Tbh I Expect the DLC ANNOUCEMENT to be an 12/5
Yeah there's no way the dlc would be released after the day of the livestream.

Frontier knows about birds, let’s not kid ourselves it’s all over twitter, YouTube, Reddit, and even this forum how much people want more birds. Especially in recent years when it seems like people have been getting more demanding for them. They have now used around 7 flying species in WTE and not a single one has been a bird species. Especially with sales I can imagine Frontier doubling down and continuously trying to improve the game. After 4 years orangutans got brachiation, which is just one example.
That’s not even mentioning Frontier has almost exhausted all of their easily marketable and publicly known mammal species, people get excited over a capybara much more than they would for a muntjac. Macaws, ducks, owls, eagles, and other birds could boost sales going forward.
A lot of bird species don’t even move much, especially the birds of prey and macaws. So I can see them being implemented into the game. But I don’t know Planet Zoos limits like others so there could be more reasons why we don’t have them. But, if modders can find a way to create new animations I don’t quite know what said limitations could be. Now this doesn’t explain why we only have 10 bird species when we have plenty of “non-flying” birds that can be added in game. Either way, Frontier has neither confirmed nor denied adding more birds. This has been an “issue” that they mostly remain silent on, so either A: they don’t want false promises, B: they are saving them, or C: they literally can’t do it for some reason or another.
I guess we will see, just I don’t want everyone getting worked up for a nonexistent promise and then getting mad when we weren’t promise anything.

We're expecting it to be something like Mountain pack (Alpine, Highland, etc), if it is not Mountain pack and turns out to be something else just like last pack, we expected it to be Temperate pack and it turned out to be Oceania pack. What would you guys like it to be if it is not Mountain Pack? Packs I would like to have if it is not Mountain Pack:
- Amazon/Latin America Pack - Finally, more South American animals
- Forest/Temperate Pack
- Eurasia Pack
- Endangered Animal Pack - Featuring Secretary Bird, I'm not sure if they will add another bird after a pack with two birds in it

Yeah I’m honestly gonna drop this thread for the weekend. I’ve made my mark and I’m pretty sure this entire community knows what I want and what I think we’ll get.

Can I ask why it's looking like people's want more the Gelada than Hamadryas Baboon? because Hamadryas Baboon is so much more common like i don't think i ever seen Gelada in zoos so idk. also it would be funny if we going to get Hamadryas, if frontier would include their red butt LOL

Yes to all of this. Really well articulated. I think ultimately with Frontier’s current financial situation, if the investment in coding and design gives sufficient returns, then implementing birds make sense. They need profit and this is a strategy for this. They have been clever to save them, people are still playing the game, and now finally, in this moment, birds would given even more longevity. And yes, I know how much birds have been a hot topic and I’m definitely repeating what’s been said many times previously, but just expressing my view. We clearly all love this game as a community, and whatever happens, I’m grateful that post our fourth anniversary we’re getting such amazing additions as gift shops. I mean, I’m floored by it - it’s unexpected to get this and viewing domes so far into development. Everyone expected development to end sooner, in line with Planet Coaster’s life cycle, and it’s been such a gift to have this amount of development. I’m so grateful to all the talent and passion that has and continues to be put into this game, particularly with the difficulty at Frontier currently. Devs, community team, you are all superstars at what you do. I’m sitting here on a Friday evening grateful for it.
Gelada is borderline nonexistent in North America but a bit more common in Europe. Hamadryas baboons are still far more common there, but it makes a bit of sense. They also have their weird-looking chest making them appealing, plus they have Zoo Tycoon 2 nostalgia which is a heavy factor for some people.
I totally get why they have their fans and them getting in wouldn't be the worst, but I'm team Hamadryas till the end.

Probably because they better fit the classic alpine vibe one imagines, or atleast better than the hamadryas.
But i too would prefer the hamadryas
I can be proven wrong again, like I was with Musk Ox, but although Hamadryas Baboons like to live on steep cliffs and hills, they don't necessarily live on high altitudes.
Unlike Geladas which, again if I'm correct, live exclusively on mountains. Also they're nicely represented in European zoos. I've seen them on multiple occasions.
So the livesream was finally confirmed, nice. Based on the whole "discover" thing its making me strongly assume this is going to be a biome pack which makes me think back to mountains or tundra. Final prediction is a cold-based biome pack, not very original, I know.
The gift shop discussion is fun! I imagine we will see plushies, figurines, books, board games, mugs, hats, clothes, stylised ornaments, and more.
For the plushies I think a giant panda is basically guaranteed, probably one of the foxes as well.
