Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

For some reason i found tanukis mildly unsettling

Like they are a wild animal that looks like a weird domestic dog breed, has the face of a raccoon and the body of idk a cat? but is a dog.

Yes but sloth bear is visually distinct (although spectacled bear is as well), frugivore/insectivore, has big claws and long face, and carries babies on their back (which hopefully, HOPEFULLY, will mean they'll incorporate this behaviour in other animals already in game like pangolins and anteaters). Plus india is in need of Animals almost as much as SA (and that's coming from a southamerican)
No its not?
Its literally just a lesser sun bear?

As one of the raccoon dog's biggest supporters, I do feel compelled to keep the arguments for them factual - they're actually only kept at a single North American facility, that being Oklahoma City. I certainly wish there were more, but so it goes.
Oh, I thought there was another zoo that had them... So it just down to OKC zoo. that's sad... :( A few years ago I know at least Zoo Atlanta had them though. :)
I wonder if we'll get some foliage too with the update and what could it be. Also I hope the sloth bear can use the enrichment feeder from the South East Asia pack (which currently can be used only by the sun bear).
Coffee Tree/Shrub. :)

Btw can anyone explain to me why they would prefer the sloth bear over the other bears?
Its a slimmer asiatic black bear, that fills the niche of the sunbear and is the least common bear in zoos by a large margin.
It doesnt even look special besides having fuzzy ears
Its literally just a cross of two bears we allready have that are for any sense and purpose better then it
Both have larger and more varied ranges, the black bear is the fluffy version, the sunbear is the special slim weird looking version and the sloth bear just looks like the inbetween version.
The sun bear is also the smallest bear and more insectivores then the sloth bear, so it isnt even unique in that regard so why is it here and why are people actually wanting it above the short faced bear from south america and the all terrain all color all biomes all of north america bear?
I get not wanting a bear at all, but why this one?
What am i missing here?

Yeah, Atlanta lost both of theirs in early 2020. I was heartbroken. I'd spend hours just hanging out with them, watching them be the perfect little goofs. My avatar is one of Atlanta's raccoon dogs, actually. But they were old fellas and they wound up going one after the other :(

Now that's an great idea :D 2 unique animals in the form of the golden monkey and saiga. India gets the sloth bear, himalayas gets a takin and eurasia gets an otter, boar and wolverine.

That's cool! Its sad when an animal you care for passes... :( Do you know his or her name?

I wonder If Frontier caught true essence of saiga. Average habitat should look like graveyard considering this animal breeds as fast as is dying.

They should have stopped a long time ago. But now they cut so deep down into that list that the birds and monkeys are finally reaching the top. They better not stop now.
I hate to say this, they absolutely will. I hope they don’t though. At this point they have used so many mammals that we are now having a Takin or Wolverine as a pack headliner. There is not way people at Frontier haven’t talked about birds.

I do feel bad for Frontier, the animals they add have been super high on the meta wishlist. They are all heavily requested animals, and are wonderful. But the way they fill out packs have been the issue. How many more packs do I have to get 6-7 mammals and 1 reptile? Or how many 3-4 mammals and others? It just feels so bizarre. What is stopping them from adding more habitat birds????
