Would it good if we can sell engineered gears/ships on FC?

Are they giving away free donuts today for stating the obvious? My point is, we cannot SELL anything we engineer to other players, unlike all other MMOs I've personally played.
Sure as hell they don't for not been precise in stating what You want to say in the first place. Are You familiar with concept of sarcasm? I agree with somebody before that it would drive outside game economy rather that in game itself.I like this game cus its free to play and only stuff you can buy for real $$$ is purely cosmetic, does not speed up progression and does not give anybody an edge over other players.

I give up..... 🤦

and thats why I don't play other MMOs, spent about 200hrs in WoW before getting borred with been killed by much stronger players with overpowered gear, despite been my level or even lower...

cus its free to play

Free to play means you don't have to buy the game.
You have to buy Elite.

You mean it has no subscription fee - that's not "free to play"

Terminology aside.

Old Duck was pretty specific - they said "and sell" in their post.

Your point about people potentially using this to sell things in the real world is potentially valid - but my personal opinion on this is, while I dislike that idea intensely, I don't think limiting a games design based on it is a good idea - also, currently, you can transfer a whole lot of credits between account very easily using fleet carriers - and we don't -seem- to be seeing any big problems with that.

My bad indeed, what I ment was minimal ingame purchases.

With trasfering credits between accounts I thought that was patched up? Sry for off topic.

Here's a thought about selling engineered stuff (from lore pount of view). The thing is, like I said before, it would change the concept of engineeres, after all they are Secretive individuals who I'd assume do not like sharing their knowledge freely. If the said mechanic of selling the engineered stuff was made say illegal BUT available, say black marked for parts, and then say those parts are tagged as illicit and when scanned by security the player gets fine or bounty... that would sound like an interesting conceot to me. One would have to wheigh pros and cons of taking route of aquireing said parts. Either easy but pottentialy hazardous, or hard way but safer. From role play perspective, that would be ace. A pirate would not give a flying about having legal parts, same for deep space explorer... I would defo be up for that like.

After all, we are talking about re -selling and profiting on somebody's patented intellectual property. From legal point of view it's... shady at the least :)

My opinion only... o7

Edit:
I think that way devs could kill 2 burds with 1 stone by giving players what they always wanted - a start of player driven economy, as well as expand on (my opinion only) somewhat useless at the minute, black market feature. Hell, I would definitely get myself into building a pirate Vette ASAP.

I can see what you're trying to do.

I just think it is over complicating things for a somewhat debatable level of benefit.

Complicated, definitely.
I believe the main benefit would be creation of a new role for the game entirely. I think it would add another depth to the game where 1 could become an outlawed merchant selling illegal goods. Yes we do have black marked for commodities, why not black marked for engineered parts?

As always, only my opinion.
