Game Discussions X4 this looks Very good

I don't know, but teladi is building factories willy-nilly in my sector, and they're not paying me to do so, so judging by this, I would also guess a vanishing act.

If that is the case, I have to wonder whats the point... Making "food" rations illegal might be amusing.

Soloing a K in a fighter is tricky because of the low damage output, soloing it in some M ships may be tricky because it's harder to keep them in the blind spots, but with the right weapons it becomes trivial. The main difficulty in erasing a K with my Peregrine is having the patience to pound at it for minutes, even with damage-modded shards battery and flak turrets. 30 seconds to deprive it of every turret and engine, and the next 5 minutes to get rid of shields...

Outside of the more "exotic" torpedo/muon charger outfits (or other Split weapons I don't really know well), even a Dragon with 6 shards batteries or plasma would obliterate a K. The advantage of shards being at least useful even against fighters.

Well, I have upgraded the computer and reloaded X4 F. I'm quite happy atm but I'm diligently working through the initial stages of learning the interface. Its a lot to digest so I've decided to just move slow while playing through the basic lone pilot story. I started up my first mission, picked up an Interface widget and will fly to the next mission goal. Videos are a wonderful help. Good Luck all you X4 players.

Edit: so I don't bump this for such trivial questions … What the consensus on the most useful X4 forum? Egosoft, Steam, Reddit, Roguey, or another I've missed ? I have not registered on any of these yet but will.

Google for searching answers as it will give you a hit on either steam, egosoft or reddit if there is an answer. If you just want to read the post etc then egosoft as they have split any spoiler into there own section. Just keep in mind the date of the answers as they relate to the version being played and available at that time.

3rd attempt at K did the charm. Found nice spot to hit shields. Turned aim assist off and used the swarm missiles. Once shields went the rest came down too. Small turrets quickly dispatched with the main guns.
Lots of trouble getting L miners working at my station. I turned to M miners and they work fine.
Unlocking the mods - I might do that first in subsequent starts.

Still loving this game, I haven't even touched the split missions, just trying to run my few stations, and fight off xenon incursions into my territory.
Finally saved enough for my own s/m wharf, custom built Ares are awesome.
Small Spaceweed factory making more/hr than my huge PHQ which has full production lines of a lot of wares.
Have 4-5 wings of 15-30 Ares, they wreck Xenon Ks in no time, my destroyers don't even get to the fight, and it's over.

You're way ahead of me. This weekend I formed my first little squadron to escort a L size mining ship. I have 5 or 6 other miners out in various sectors making money to fund my operations and cover the cost of the few ships I've lost. The crew management system is keeping me busy and monitoring making money. enough for now … back to it … GL HF

Something bizarre has happened to one of my stations.
Defense platform with an admin centre in the middle of the structure gave me ownership of a sector.
I came home to find that the admin centre has disappeared from the station, but the turrets and docks surrounding it are intact. F2 shows a blank spot where it used to be. Ownership of the sector has now changed due to its disappearance.
I cannot find anything in the logs regarding it, and unfortunately my save games are good only for the current day, or a week ago, have made a ton of progress during the week.

How long did you take to build fleet?
Just looked it up - 41 days. As to how I did it, I'd set up miners to sector automine, and just go to bed. By the time I'd let the game run while I was at work - buy yet more miners and assign them to automine other sectors. Eventually, I'd have a truckload of money and could build stations.

The big money-maker are wharfs. The danger of course with letting the game run on autopilot is Xenon going nuts and killing everyone in the galaxy, but that didn't happen that build.

Haha, I used to do that in X3. X4 is more relaxed and seems not to poll player activity anymore. I've gobbled 50 millions or so. That could buy me a bit of fleet, but I'm too reluctant to spend it. Started building a complex station, used less cash than expected and now I have to deliver quite the amount of capital ships to a quest. That means I'm more likely to spend the cash on that.

Well, it's actually 50 m cash. Assets are a bit over 100 m. I guess the latter includes cash. I'm not going to analyse my RoE - I'm busy enough making my station work.
Taking a break right now but looking back the universe seems very dynamic in terms of stations popping up new all the time. First Contact Flashpoint is 3 quarter Argon 1 quarter HOP now. Not tracking the fighting much being busy doing my own stuff, but HOP and PAR are quite busy exchanging assets too.

Indeed, after a few dozen hours of play, Profit Center Alpha is starting to look like Megacity One in my game:

And coming from the other direction, with all stations backlit, it looks even more impressing.

8Billion from running 2 wharfs, crazy money makers.
Don't understand workforce, I have plenty of habitats, food, medicine, even spaceweed for those crazy teladis.
Came home to lots of money, but workforce has actually dropped from last night.
Does building ships with crew reduce workforce pop? It's the only reasonable explanation.

If I remember correctly, yes it does, I remember translating some messages about stations not having enough workforce to provide a full crew complement to ships.

Whaaa? Eighteen Billion? At least that's what you need to go for now. Concerning the habitats, maybe try a mix. If I understand correctly a hab will draw a fixed amount from a race, so having more races pulls more workforce. Not sure if multiple habs of one race stack. I mean they should, but who knows what's in the equation. Maybe there is global manpower pool all habs draw from and Teladi is already dry.
