So I'm back but this time its to admit that I may have spoken too soon. Last week this game sucked hard and was unplayable on the Xbox console.
This week there was an update (update times can vary depending on timezones and locations) The bugs are gone and everything is slightly better.
Graphics included!

It was a massive update with mostly subtle, but nothing short of extraordinary, upgrades.
The UI/UX in ED has always amazed me. Let's start here, if you are a newcomer the learning curve can be intense but trust me it's worth it.
Getting used to all the functions and learning how to fly is competitive in itself and challenging to say the least and thats just the learning curve.
How so many controls and different experiences that comes with a space fleet of so many amazing ships, in a literal Galaxy sandbox game, can exist the way it does In ED is an absolute gaming masterpiece.

Spoiler Alert
Im not sugar coating this, as a web developer and amateur programmer I can understand at a very basic level the simplicity of this Game. But there is just so much happening and so much to experience that you don't notice any of that right away. You could play this game for a month solid and only just begin to grasp it. Learning to fly and navigate solar systems.. then the Galaxy.. experiencing the universe as either a simple trader or explorer. You could jump into a role as a bounty hunter if you want the possibilities seem endless. I suggest taking your time and learning as you go. Try to avoid searching online for tips because you will see things and read things you might wish you didn't, which will kill some of the mystery.

I suggest keeping bounty hunting for last. I haven't even mentioned it until now, focusing on just getting started and im already a month into the game (sarcasm) been here for over 4 years. Last week I wrote some threads about how disappointed I was in the game (mostly due to the bugs). This week I have made up for all that lost time. I am currently escorting passengers around the Galaxy while making some fat cred. I don't play this game often and the reason I was so upset last week was because I have so much hope for this game. I haven't even gotten into combat yet.. and I cant wait. Its the cherry on top imo.

This is by far the BEST game on XBOX IMO. I own some of the top games on this system and they are amazing but this is just so much more than a game its a lifestyle. ED is a beautifully crafted experience that covers almost every aspect of what makes gaming so fun. With so many different ways to play this game including solo or with friends its like a new game every time. I can only assume that there are some people who wont be into it so I guess you either get it or you dont but that is the way when it comes to something this great!

Like Christmas or babies.. you either love them.. or you don't!

I am truly glad that you were able to get the bugs blown out of the system and are now able to enjoy the game as best as possible. While I have only been playing the game for about 6 months (compared to those who played the original '84 version) I still get a thrill when I am coming in for a landing. I hope that you can now get the experience that many of us have been able to enjoy!

Take Care and Check Six Commander! o7

Atom,

nicely put indeed. I remember when I was sitting in front of my Zyxel 14 kbaud modern, waiting for the download of a hubble picture to complete, the picture on the screen blew my mind. That was where I remembered Elite on my Atari, and I thought, now that would be a game to my liking, hubble style.

....and here we are.... :)

P.S. as for not using online searches, I have another angle on that, without certain tools or the many excellent you tube videos out there, real life savers, I consider the game unplayable to a point where you just could not be bothered loading it anymore. Where would I be today without EDDB or the Engineering Informations on INARA? I probably had Elite already deleted. Too much of a hassle to progress in a meaningful way. That's just me of course, YMMV.

I finally got a Transporter* 7 and took 2 escort missions bringing scientists into deep space (50Mil cred if I make both ~ 20/30). Needless to say my ship fell into a few stars on the way and I made it so far to Pyramoe system, I took a straight shot from the bubble to the center of the G. Messing with some modules and having used up my AFMS I turned off my 2xMultiCans, Missiles, torpedoes.. chaff etc and despite having a Discovery scanner I dont have a surface scanner or a scarab so I admit I regret not doing more research before leaving hahah.

I am cheating and used EDDB to find a station nearby.
Update: After messing with the modules and the map I found the boost option when setting waypoints which lead me here. I ended up "discovering" some "white holes" (my 7 year old calls them that so thats what Im calling them. I asked what that is and he said 'they are like the buttholes of a black hole'.)
So I charged up my FSD using the Neutron Star or 'Butthole' which has been failing almost 70% of the time.. sparks etc(my FSD not the butthole)and all this just to have learned that with all this junk (cannons etc) im carrying I ONLY have a fuel range of 5Tonnes MAX! smh.

I wish I could EJECT my arsenal and 'empty passenger lounges :/ I also have a MASSIVE fuel RESERVE. SO far I've sold some cartographics and made 90MILLION profit! which is insane?. I admit I wondered if I could eject the passengers and just become a pirate for a moment. Then I actually felt bad.

I dont want to say too much about where i am because I dont want to be a target but I need a deep space station that can outfit my ship. I have 1 week to complete these 2 missions and I can retire as an explorer with a small fleet.

If you are heading for the centre of the galaxy (I understood all the words in your post but the meaning...) then there is for your use a station near there:

it has outfitting:

However, the Pyramoe region is not very far from the bubble so perhaps you just need to load up EDDB and see where the nearest station to you actually is.

Yes im referring to the G in Galaxy as in the in-game map.. so need to feel confused anymore about the words in my sentences.

Pyramoe is a huge system and i was in it more than half way to the center of the Galaxy. My target are not in the center but near it. Considering ive never upgraded my engines and cant use Neutron stars it's a tonne of boosts to get around.

Hmm.... Well of course I am not the fount of all knowlege and I am quite happy to be corrected but I was sure that the Pyramoe systems were in an area that didn't extend even 7KLy from the bubble.

Enjoy yourself whatever you do...

I dont know all the systems by heart boss. Glookeo or something. For some reason Pyramoe stuck I guess. Either way that really has nothing to do with what I was saying.

Well you wrote "... I need a deep space station that can outfit my ship " which is what I originally replied to. Anyway - no worries, just so long as you are enjoying yourself.

UPDATE: I made it to Colonia* Turns out I cant land a Type-7 on any outpost spaceports but I can dock on the planet based stations, finally able to get some outfitting. Improved my boost range from 18 to 25 dropping hardpoints ect. FSD boost still doesn't seem to be working im getting the 5.00Tonne limit exceeded error. Starting to think its a bug. I have 5A rated FSD drive and power station. I only have 2 passenger and a few tonne of empty space. Not sure why I can FSD Cone boost*

Yes T7 is unfortunately just too large for a medium pad and that is the biggest size available on Outposts.

1 - Do you have the required materials to synthesize a FSD boost?

2 - Have you synthesized it?

3 - You do know that Jet Cone boost (different to a FSD boost in 1 and 2 above) requires you to supercharge your FSD by flying inside the jet of a Neutron Star or (more dangerously and less boost) White Dwarf?
