It would be pretty cool to be able to click on your view points and take in the view they offer your guests. also more control with depth of water, filling in trenches, etc.
 
Game Released: What to Immediately Work Towards

Hi folks,

Have noticed there are numerous threads regarding wishlists and what you'd like to see in the game. So without further cluttering the forums, please place all of your ideas and wish lists as a reply to this thread here. You're welcome to post to this thread as much as you'd like.


Please note that posting here does not denote your idea will be added to the game.

Excellent game Frontier Development! This is a very fun and well developed game that needs a little fine tuning for your fans and future paying customers to keep coming and not leave. While we are managing what we are creating to earn funds, you are managing what you have already created to earn funds, and so here is a list (or "wishlist") of things that you should immediately consider developing next:

  1. Guest Management

    Guests should have similar stats as dinosaurs to keep their comfort high: hunger, thirst, exhaustion, funds, activity/fun, bathroom, sickness/injury, cleanliness. There should by types of guests (rich spenders, thrill seekers, activity seekers, herbivore lovers, safety enthusiasts, dino activitists). Part of park management is keeping guests comfortable and from leaving and willing to pay more and more. Let us see the guests thoughts and feedback on the new raptor enclosure: does it scare them? Is it exciting? Are they leaving because of it? Are they avoiding that area altogether now? You have a great game foundation, now work on the ability to manage our guests in addition to our dinosaurs. This should be first and foremost in next development.​

  2. Park Management

    While there are some aspects of this game that is park management, this is really a dinosaur management game. So please, next on your list (after guest management), add more park management features. Features should include: managing trash and cleanliness, park security guards, dinosaur experts giving tours, hiring and managing staff that roams the park (aside from just the store management slider bar), park entrance fees, park marketing campaigns to get more guests to come, people leaving because of a visitor death, overcrowded parks should cause the dinosaurs to become more agitated (this would give a reason to close the park at times). Give us day/night cycles on a timer, when dinosaurs go to sleep at night, guests get bored and start leaving or go and stay at the hotels ($$$). Want to keep the park rating up? Have opening and closing hours for the park that we can specify. Finally, instead of funds per minute, let us earn funds in real time, per guest arriving, per transaction at buildings, let us charge prices at the viewing platform and monorail, let us manage our park.​

  3. Dinosaur Management

    This is a dinosaur management game and these things should be developed for quality and consistency: Place a timer on tranquilized dinosaurs so they wake up again on their own, I've had dinosaurs die of starvation because they slept to death. Have dinosaurs excrement and cause waste build up (give rangers another task for clean up). Let dinosaurs form packs and hunt together. Perhaps a group of raptors might try to take on a larger carnivore together. Have some fights end in giving up or fleeing rather than it always ending in death. Have actual hunts, large carnivores need to wait to attack instead of just charging small and fast herbivores (they always just stand there and die). Have the small things be able to run away easily. Give dinosaurs personality traits. Consider these possibilities.​

Do these Frontier and your already great game will be that much greater! Keep up the great work!
 
Just 1 IDEA to throw in this 1,00 thread loggs i hope u see

PLZ add a day and night cyle u have ageing dinos but the day hasnt changed to night there goes that immersion why have aging on dinos theres no day and night cycle there plz add.

Please reply if u can add something like that or is it too late since the gaem is relased need to know with no day and night cycle game feels like when plying same day but my dinos getting older.
 
Move HQ menu to main view and let me use F* keys to access those menus

It's cumbersome having to click into the management screen and then tab, why not just move this bar to the park view and let me use F1-F6 to access them quickly? Plenty of space at the top and we could always see the alert highlights.

Seems like a no brainer!

Quality of Life improvement[/h]
Downloaded the game yesterday, started playing and after 6 hours, had to peel myself away from it at 1am so I could get a few hours sleep before work. 4.9 stars on the first island, just need more dinos to make the crowds happy.

I'm having a really good time with the game, excited for the next islands and future content as well, but we're missing a couple key QoL improvements that either I can't figure out, or aren't implemented.

1: Vertical Camera Controls/Camera snapping. Zooming in and out is great, but I can't figure out how to raise and lower the camera while angling around an object or in free cam. When I placed my first hatchery, my camera was stuck down near the ground and I couldn't raise it unless I backed up against a mountain, it took me 10 minutes to place down the path for the joint because I couldn't see what I was doing. I would like to click on a building, have the camera lock onto it, and then be able to use keys or the mouse to raise/lower and rotate the camera around, with the added ability to snap the camera to an object/building/dino/visitor.

2: Object snapping/finer rotation controls. I've got 2 buildings that are about 3 degrees off being lined up with my sidewalk and there's no fixing it. Either A: let me put the building up against the path then keep the angle it's set at once I move it away from the path, or B: give me finer control over the rotation by 1 or .5 degree rotation increments so I can get stuff straight. OCD is tilting me off the planet.

3: Time controls: on the fence about this one, pun intended. If I want to re-design a critter pen, it would be great to be able to pause the game and do it, instead of relocating 20 plus dinos to a temporary holding pen just to fix 10ft of fencing to make room for a substation, then move all 20 dinos back. I get that the current method is more "realistic" but my only alternative is tranq'ing 20 dinos at once and hoping they don't wake up and break free while I fix the fence.
*Side note: Adding a fast forward option to skip the wait on research times would be appreciated as well. There are long gaps where nothing happens while I'm waiting for fossil research that would be great to fast forward through.

4: Moving objects once placed: I would happily pay the loss on replacing a building if I could just move it, instead of full demo and complete rebuild. Without the ability to pause time, if I want to move my power plant 10 feet to the north, I have to demo it. To do that, I have to build an all new one somewhere else in the park(or lose all power to several facilities/fences), place a second power plant where I want it moved to, then demolish the first one. In total, you're forced to demo 2 power plants just to move 1 a couple feet over. On top of costing 2.8 trillion dollars to move a building 10 feet, it makes "designing" the park extremely tedious. As a player low on funds, you're basically forced to make due with your initial placement. I get that forward planning would help this, but this is my first "Park Simulator" game and it doesn't make much sense to me. Moving a substation 5 feet over to allow for a wider footpath, same deal.

Just some thoughts, like I said, I'm really enjoying the game, just feel like these ideas would remove some of the tedium.​

It would be cool if you had a way to create free dinosaurs, just like in Jurassic Park Genesis, separate by territories equal to the movie "The Lost World Jurassic Park" and dinosaur skins from other films such as the green T-Rex, yellow Velociraptor or brown. Skins also the constructions, being able to mount the Jurassic Park.
Wish list - would be water / flying dinosaurs.
More attractions than it was John Hammond's dream,

Mod support. Full mod support and custom islands. Either random gen or a basic editor.
These features will give the game a lot of replay value, and give us even more features that we are free to use if we wish. If i want to add "shoddy" content that i enjoy then i want to beable to do that.
Also extend/remove the invisible wall on the story islands and just let the island topography be the boundary. Just so we can hug our facilities close to the mountains/cliffs.

I am loving this game so far, and I would like it to last a long time just like JPOG.
Please consider the suggestions I have posted. I know there are alot of people in the community that have also requested mod support and there are lots of talented people that could keep this game alive and growing.

Lots if people have written approximately the same, but I just feel like the number is the thing that will convince the devs. So:
1) Improved dinosaur behaviour. More kill and battle movement cariations, better reaction, proper herding, pack hunting, smarter escapes like sneaking through gates with rangers
2) speaking about the rangers: why on earth are they never attacked? It’s Jurassic Park or what?
3) DLCs or updates with new dinosaurs. I don’t even dream of aviatory and aquarium, but who knows...
4) Yes, yes, more customization like adding rocks and deep ponds or individual plants. Also dfferent biomes would look great, like rocky hills or sand or marsh
5) Improved visitors AI and animations
6) In JP 2 and 3 the fact that dinosaurs actually had different sexes was the mjor storyline problem. Of course it’s a load of work, but natural breeding system would be SO cool!
7) More hybrids?..
8) Individualistic behaviour of “smart” dinosaurs like raptors. They can tend to seartain pack members or even other creatures and freak out when they die, etc.
9) of course, as long as Indominus is in the game, it should have all the abilities of the JW one

I totally understand that some of these ideas might sound alien to your original game concept and you are ok to reject all of them, but I just think that these (or some other) steps are vital to to reach the estimated level of “the best JP game ever”, just please don’t stop working on your amazing brainchild!

I like the list but rangers being attacked or having dinos sneak out after the rangers would be more problematic. Would you rather to always have to tranq your dinos before you go into their enclosures which makes it less fun, more demanding and stressful. I like the fact of being able to enjoy my dinos and not having to worry about those things. It is hard enough with some of the dinos trying to keep them happy when they aren't and just break out in chaos. We don't want it overly difficult. To add to the list, there is clipping and collision problems with dinosaurs going into dinos and such that I would like fixed. I am hopeful for more vehicles or further skills along with aquatic and pterosaurs. Hopeful for the AI improvement as sometimes people are in my inclosures and not even knowing how they got in there. More animations would be nice as the animals look incredible but they don't have herding or pack mechanics very well. It would be nice with a variety. I am also hopeful for more hybrids as well as additional dinos.
 
Time controls

For the love of god, let us speed up time. I can see the reasoning for not wanting to include a pause feature (though I'd really prefer to be able to pause as well) to keep it "realistic", but I don't see why we can't speed things up while we're waiting for things to unlock. Hell, you could even implement a pause feature but not allow construction while paused or something if you wanted to avoid people building while paused.
 
More park aesthetic options please

It would be realy nice if we had more options to make our parks look nice.

More terrain options:-

Atm you have option for Tree. It would be nice if we could pick Paleo trees, tropical theme, Savannah theme, Woodland, Forest theme etc.

Painting ground textures. Atm everythings grass. It would be nice if we could put sand down (i know it's already modelled, i can see it on my island) or dirt, wetland, scorched earth etc. I would love to make an Allosaurus enconsure where everything looks like this dull grey volcanic ashland.

Rocks.

Park benches, signs, bins, gardens, individual strees, statues! Fountains.

Basically just stuff. Cram in all the aesthetic options you can think of and i would glady waste hours! Just making my park/enclosures look nice! :)
 
I'm really liking the game, but I I'm already seeing areas that can be improved. So far it just feels like a current-gen port of Operation Genesis (which is mostly a good thing!), with some improvements and some omissions.

Suggestions:

  • Guest POVs from inside the dinosaur viewing attractions (like in Operation Genesis)
  • Interaction between dinosaurs and environments. (Water ripples and drips while drinking, dust and imprints from footsteps, collision detection (my dinos stick their faces right through the fences) The current lack of interaction feels very last-gen.
  • First-person views while driving / riding vehicles
  • Individual guest feedback ( like O.G.)
  • More realistic gore during feedings and fights! (maybe this could be a user setting)
  • Day/night cycles - not sure if this is part of the game or not, as I'm only 5 hours in to playing
  • Tourist mode - visit the park as a controllable character or 1st person. Visit attractions, shops, etc.
 
I would absolutely love to have this game on Xbox Play Anywhere.

I bought it on the Xbox store in order to get the achievements however I do tend to go on my PC more so having the option to play this on the PC as a "Play Anywhere" title would be amazing and I am sure others may think the same.
 
Please make the pre-order bonus skins (such as orange ranger and helicopter skin) buyable.

I think I missed the skins for only by 2 or 3 minutes. I made me so frustrated of not getting the skin though I think I definitely bought it before the release.
I will pay for the skin though if only I can buy it. So make it buyable please..,.
 
1) Path decorations - lampposts, floodlights, bins, benches, fountains, speakers (with custom music would be nice), statues, fossils, dinosaur info boards by paddocks, street signs, poster boards (with custom image support would be nice)
2) Terrain tools - selection of appropriate biome paints (sand, rock, swamp), rocks, plants/bushes, tall grasses, paleo trees that herbivores can feed on
3) High mast lighting in paddocks to light dinos at night
4) Visitor attractions - viewing domes, jeep safari (JW free drive and JP track ride), balloon ride, Cable Gondola ride, boat ride, treetop walking paths and first person mode for all current and future attractions
5) Tour guides that take guests round the park
6) Herbivore feeders - viewing platform feeding trays/guest hand feeders, treetop walk feeding trays
7) Security cameras
8) Raptor paddocks from both JP and JW
9) Sandbox mode with day/night cycle
10) Jurassic Park assets - buildings, main gate, vehicles
11) Larger variety of guest buildings - shops, food stalls, information stations, dino feed. Also the dino balloon I saw in JW and see the guest walking around with it because why not
12) Ability to purchase more land to build on for each island
13) Staff management - manage training, wages, job types, and moods
14) Staff variety - janitors, entertainers, dino experts at each paddock (maybe in the viewing stations)
15) Visitor management - see guest thoughts and needs globally and individually
16) More ways to access the islands - Helipad and ferry port, then jeep ride or monorail to park entrance
17) Aviary and lagoon
18) Paddock cleaning - dinos do a doo doo, rangers go clean it up
19) Separate restricted staff areas and visitor areas - build all your important staff buildings (power, ACU, expedition centre, fossil and research) away from the main park and have a path locked off via a staff gate
20) Underground power cables
21) maintenance sheds/bunkers for running backup power systems/power relays between different power stations

VISITORS MANAGEMENT

Hi

From one side the dinos part of the game is flawless you really made and epic JP game with a lot of the feeling of the movie.

still I have some little thing I would love to see in the future like more buildings for the visitors, more type of people and skins, people with balloons, Toilets buildings, umbrellas when it rains, day and night change with headlights in the sidewalks, garbage deposits etc. you know make the game more tycoon and fun to give it more style.

I dont know I hope you can add more stuff to make the lifetime of the game more long and not fill it repetitive so fast.

Love the game and love you for make in it!
