Spring dlc Speculation 2023

Yes I agree the smaller decorative pieces are Essential to an island pack but will probably struggle with finding a new construction wall set - maybe weathered wood or something I guess

Hmm tropical resorts are already covered, you just have to be creative

Pretty much 90 percent of these pictures are very much doable to build with the existing construction pieces . Now a beachside map on the other hand....
Islands could come with a mediterranean theme like the aquatic theme is also a generic harbor town theme.

So answer my question. What would you pick for scenery packs?
For scenery?
I think we do not need more scenery packs, but if that is the question, i accept the challenge.
My choice would be mountains. The mountains could contain himalayan and american scenery, with the spectacled bear, gelada, Takin, Palla´s Cat and the Pit mountain viper. But i always think that it would be better as an animal pack. Another cool idea could be a nocturnal pack, with nocturnal house scenery and other things, probably the unical scenery pack idea that I can like.

Scenery pack ideas that could work out well (imo):
  • Himalayan mountains - alot of decorative pieces which just is not feasible to build in game
1671719874019.png

  • American old West - I see this alot but I feel this is more planet coaster than zoo. Introduce horizontal stained wood and new customisable sign boards
1671719971007.png

  • South East Asia - places like Indonesia and Thailand have unique architecture which would also work for an islands pack
1671720024067.png

  • Coastal - Mediterranean and general harbour town scenery would be an expansion to the aquatic pack. Looking at maybe greece kind of buildings?
1671720100606.png

  • Latin America - mix of new world Spanish architecture and modern Latin America would complement the south America pack

Im sure there is many other odd themes that frontier surely knows that find in zoos, twilight and conservation set examples of different themes but added much needed materials like actual slat boards to work with

I have a very curious question: Which animal is: your favourite from the game, would love to be introduced to the game, which one you would delete from the game and which animal you don´t want to come to the game, and 2 you would do a remaster? I´m sure everyone has a favourite or less favourite animals in real life and in the game, for make time until the next update comes 😄

For me would be:
Favourite Animal in the game:
Giant Otter

Favourite to be introduced in the game:
Greater Rhea

Delete from the game:
Himalayan Brown Bear

Don´t want to come to the game:
Raccoon dog

2 Remasters:
Malayan Tapir and Lion (we seriously need a remaster of this 2)

I always thought something like a Garden Pack would work pretty well, focussing on plants and rocks rather than architecture (although it would also be cool to get more tools to create art pieces and such). I dunno about the animals, as I‘ve only been to Central European parks and gardens, but I feel like a Mute Swan or some kind of goose or duck would work well here!

Yeah those are pretty much my ideas. The costal or islands building set could include polynesian and caribbean pieces as well.

Instead of thinking about what theme to use, I'd rather think about what textures we still need and how to turn them into a theme. All the topics you have posted can be assembled with a bit of skill.

So rather the question: What texture do we need?

My 5 cents:

Horizontal wooden texture (flip the arctic and aquatic wallset)
1671724881160.png

modern concrete wall panels
1671725349915.png

Flexi for the all the other walls

I'd really like carpet tiles, often used in reptile or small mammal houses.

I hope planet zoo lasts a long time, I absolutely need all the pieces of scenery from all the places you say.
I especially love the ones from Southeast Asia and the coastal/Mediterranean.

Ok, how about a nautical theme?. That'd be perfect for aquatic areas, like aquariums, etc.

New Idea: Scenery packs without a new building set. I kinda agree with people saying that we dont really need to much more building sets, however i think we could use a lot more props and decoration pieces. Just stuff to bring your zoo to life, playground and giftshop stuff, maybe a couple flexicolor car types to fill out parking lots and so on.

What like a harbour dlc with seagulls and pelicans 🤣. Thinking about it nautical can be a wide term for marine life but sticking to the planet zoo conservation theme - harbour seal, sea otter, walrus, elephant seal, another kind of sea lion, coastal birds like pelicans and auks.

Alright joking over about seagulls, nautical theming can use a better theming for coastal areas - primarily Alaska and lighthouse theming comes to mind. Alaska features more rustic fishing harbours where prop boats, nets, and weathered wood can come into play. Animals featured like harbour seal, cold water fish, sea otters and more. Also smaller fishing vibes can also be Scandinavian - I know every coastal country has but thinking more iconic theming. A mix between rustic and modern would be great to work with

Lighthouse harbours would be amazing for aquatic areas. While possible to build in game , the vibrant colours and light itself can be somewhat odd looking when say trying to recreate a cute little lighthouse to overlook a sea lion habitat

Looking at actual coastal theming to bring this back to planet zoo, I like how the Columbus zoo managed to incorporate a coastal vibe to their sea lion habitat

Hannover Zoo has this Yukon Bay theme for its NA/Aquatic Section.
with this giant ship and the retaining wall (in the front is the polar bear habitat in the back with this arena thing the seals and sea lions)

Maybe this could be a nice texture with some kind of mossy wooden and concrete poles

even such rusty wall things could be a thing
plus with this reet roof

I think you can build a pretty good coastal scenery pack with lots of useful parts. A few more buoys, nets, tires (maybe something in the direction of mining). Animals could Be:
Walrus, Pelican, Sea Otter and the Green Sea Turtle + Coconut Crab.
Et voila a solid coastal pack
