Taxonomic Groups we have everything we need from

I think there are more animals we should be caring about first though. You've listed 14 animals here and if we got the same amount as past years that would mean your filling 14 of the 23 habitat animal spots with highly filled groups of animals.

More canines would always be nice but I'd rather more things we don't have yet. If we did just get the top 23 meta wishlist animals next year then we would have no more animals from these categories added.
Heavily agreeing on this. While i have objectivly nothing against stuff like more wolves, tigers and so on, with limited support time i feel like they would "rob" a spot in the roster from something thats still severly underrepresented or missing completely. Just my opinion tho

I do not like to say no more to any group, but some groups definitely have priority. While I have individual favorite animals, these are my general thoughts on what the game needs. Generally, my priority groups start at the top, and personal preference is a bit of a factor. I agree with most people that primates and birds are severely lacking. The absence of little cats and other small mammals is also noticeable although we have gotten a few additions. It would be boring if we only got stuff from those groups, though. I want to see a mix of everything. I think the rate matters.

The first number is about the minimum I would need from each group to not think they are lacking. The second is the maximum number to add without at least filling out the minimum of the other categories. The ratios would seem very odd to me otherwise, especially if too many were added from the lower groups. The developers, of course, are free to add whatever to their game.

12-18 monkeys: at least 4 from SA, 2 small from Africa, 1 from India, and a baboon
10-? habitat birds: at least 3 from Africa, 2 ratites, 2 from SA, and hopefully 3 waterfowl
4-8 small cats: at least serval, ocelot/margay, Pallas’s; variety in continents and biomes would be nice
7-12 misc. critters: at least sloth, wolverine, coati, old world porcupine, and 2 other rodents
5-7 goats: at least markhor, musk ox, takin, desert goat of some kind
3-7 marsupials: at least tree kangaroo, Tasmanian devil, echidna; maybe 2-3 smaller ones
3-5 deer: at least 2 small, 2 from SA, 1 from Asia
3-6 reptiles: at least 1 crocodilian, 1 habitat lizard, and hopefully 2 aquatic turtles
2-4 pigs: at least red river hog, probably peccary and wild boar
2-5 dogs: at least jackal, and possibly: tanuki, bush dog, and other foxes
5-11 antelope/other bovids: at least 2 from Asia, 1 small, 1 big African
Other essentials: dromedary, wild donkey, 2-3 bears, 1-3 pinnipeds; maybes: other tapir, guanaco, manatee, other rhinos, Masai giraffe

This would be about 60-120 animals total.

If we only got ~25 more animals, I would hope the first four groups are prioritized, but I also hope support continues well beyond that. I don't want to be done with any group, yet.

I am recently thinking that we need more chinese animals tot make a decent chinese section. Of course a takin, preferably the Sichuan. But I would also like the water deer. They could share their enclosure with the chinese crane. And today I discovered the kiang a Nice wild donkey from China.

We have quite a lot chinese animals. We could use more ungulates but that applies to pretty much the whole world.

I personally think this year will be our last but if we do get more after 2023 I think we'd get support to end of 2024 Max. I don't wanna step on your dreams but I don't think we're getting over 100 animals before support ends.

I guess that's what mods are for though. I don't use mods now but once supports ends and they don't have to keep updating mods I definitkey will. That's why I hope for more unique animals to base rigs off of.

I definitely agree that Monkeys and Habitat birds should get the priorities here, and it'd be great to see 12 and 10 more of those respectively, however realistic or not it may be. Half those numbers may be more feasible, even if less than hoped for. I'm actually thinking if we got half of those minimums that may also be workable. Your lower hoped for number of 60, halved would be just a few more than a full year's habitat offerings, assuming they stuck with an Animal Pack/Scenery Pack rotation (which they've already changed that pattern once so who knows).

But I think it's perfectly valid to wish and hope for the larger numbers you mentioned as it's not hurting anyone doing so. So please don't take that I'm saying you shouldn't have those type of numbers as a want list, it's absolutely your right.

I Mean animals that are iconic for China. The only animals we have is the giant panda, Red panda, Siberian Tiger, chinese crane, the clouded leopard. And some I am not interested in like the pangolin, snow leopard, amur leopard.. so yeah we definitely need ungulates. Preferably takin, water deer and kiang. I would also like a monkey, the François leaf monkey would be ideal.

As the title says, what groups of animals would you say we have everything we need from?

Groups we have all members of in the game:
  • Aardvark
  • Elephants
  • Hippos

Groups which I think we have everything we need from:
  • Amphibians
  • Arachnids
  • Apes and Gibbons
  • Canines
  • Deer
  • Equines
  • Giraffids
  • Hyenas
  • Pangolins
  • Penguins
  • Tapirs

From these groups I'd be okay if we never got another member for the game. Do you agree?
Apes and Gibbons:
Lar Gibbon would be a cool addition because it looks different and Has a Lot of color variations compared to the Siamang

Canines:
I would like to See the Bush Dog. It looks so special compared to all the other dog like species

Deers:
I really would like to See a really small species. Be it the Pudu or the Muntjac

Equines
Somali Wild Donkey is one of the remaining must-have species in my personal opinion

Hyenas:
I agree but I would not be mad if we should get the Aardwolf

Penguins:
Little Blue Penguin or Rockhopper Penguin. One of these would make a good Addition.

With the rest I agree.

I think I would still benefit from these animals from these groups:
  • Apes and Gibbons - I would still like another Gibbon species, preferably the Lar Gibbon for their difference in colour (usually) of the two sexes. It is always nice if there is an alternative species that can be used.
  • Canines - I guess we really have all we need, but I would still like the Raccoon Dog, just because it is so visually different to any other canine. Other options are Bush Dogs and Bat-Eared Foxes, but those would really be a bonus for me.
  • Deer - disagree on this one, I think we need a small deer species. Reeves Muntjac would be my pick. Its really tiny and unique in vocalization, it can also be combined with Red Pandas.
  • Equines - Personally would not need more, but Somali Wild Donkey would be a nice choice in this regard.

I have never said that I want all of them but in my opinion some of them would be a very nice addition. Nobody knows how long the support will last. Maybe we have a year or even two or three ahead of us. One year is an equivalent of 23 habitat animals. Two years are 46 and three are 69 which would be really fair amount.

We still have some very recognizable species that would be great to lead the forthcoming packs:
  • Tassie - Island or Forest pack
  • Porcupine - Deserts, Drylands or Safari pack
  • Walrus - Marine, Tundra or Islands pack
  • Sloth - Rainforest, Forest or Woodlands pack
  • Manatee - Marine or Islands pack
  • Pelican - Marine, Islands or Safari pack (I don’t think I have ever saw a zoo without them)
  • Echidna - Deserts, Drylands, Rainforest, Forest or Woodlands pack (popularized by Fantastic beasts)
  • Coati - Rainforests or Woodlands pack (one of the best zoo animals there are).
  • Honey badger or Wolverine - Tundra, Woodlands, Drylands, Safari pack (their nasty character makes them great leaders)
  • Macaws and Toucans - Rainforests or Woodlands pack (everyone favorites)
  • Eagles and owls - Tundra or Woodlands pack (they would be a great addition)
  • Fresh water and marine aquariums - new system would gather a lot of attention.

I was also very biased by meta wishlist but 2022 showed like no other year that we can also count on rare and unexpected species from the lower positions (Water buffalo, Spectacled caiman, Nile lechwe, Skunk or Striped hyena).

disagree on equines: would like grevys zebra and somali wild ass. disagree on penguins, would like a rockhopper and little blue. disagree on amphibians and arachnids, they could fill out forever and ever.

edit: lol, somali wild donkey* i guess
