Malayan tapir is a beautiful animal. Frontier, please tweak the model and give diving behaviour to this animal.

Frontier please fix the Malayan tapir model
This species is one of the favorites of many Planet zoo fans and seeing it like that is just sad because we believe it deserves much more. Also nearly all Frontier models are so beautifully designed that right now it just sticks out compared to the others.

Yeah taking the less than stellar interest from the Reddit post and not really that much interest on the petition kinda says what the average player thinks. To the vast majority of people, it's just another tapir that's black and white. Sure the forum and other dedicated players find a cloned Baird's tapir repulsive, I don't think much more interest can be gained since many who cared have probably gone through the grieving stage already

Yeah, especially Reddit was a shock for me because the subject of SEA and Malayan tapir was mentioned there many times with much more interest and enthusiasm.

Im honest i might have signed cause why not, the games problems wont be solved by a malayan tapir fix.
Even when talking about animal fixes, other animals like the brown bears or timberwolfs are much bigger eyesores that i would prefer to be fixed.
In the end the tapir might be a clone but atleast its one of a good model, while a few basegame animals literally look like they are from a completly different game

Yeah, base game big cats, bears and wolves.
They should all be updated.
At this point I just prefer modding being able to fix the small issues like this one moreover than resources from Frontier being poured into updating older models without giving anything “new”. I’d much rather take new variants for older animals or more free items and features than a remaster at this point.
Modding hasn’t fixed it though - and it’s far from a small issue. Moreover I still paid for a substandard product.
I think narwhaler did a pretty good job at fixing the main issues with the tapir, but then I'm not to bothered by the tapir that much

But for me it always comes back to the basic point that this is a substandard product which we have paid for. It’s simply not good enough in every way.
I always ask myself: if the product isn't up to your standards, why'd you buy it in the first place?
I never cared in the 1st place for the tapir, to be honest. It doesn't bother me, and I don't mind using mods; I'm waiting for support to end before I get any, though

I’ve bought it because I thought it’s a wonderfully made animal just as the previous ones were before. I would never even suspect such a cheap move as recolor.
Also Dhole, Binturong and Striped hyena were fixed so why does not Malayan tapir?
I understand that you don’t care about the tapir and I respect that, but this tapir it’s a very important animal for many of us here (me included).
Imagine if your most desired animal would end up like that. Being a poorly made version of another one from the game. Would you maybe care a little bit more then?
