Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

They are too rare to have any noticeable effect. You can wait literally hours for one to appear in a specific system and it would take days for orthrus kills alone to cause any progress movement.

The first strikes this cycle are again all systems which saw attention on the last, many of which were high on the list of those remaining, which is great to see. Neites is up first, the defence of which will actually halt the Thargoid advance from M. Hadad as far as inhabited systems are concerned, for most Alerts there are in the direction of the Coalsack. Col 285 Sector AF-E b13-5 is progressing along with it up by M. Cocijo, and I imagine the nearby system Chibis will garner interest soon enough.

A few of the more well-favoured systems last cycle are relatively silent thus far, especially Jementi and HIP 22496. For those at M. Taranis, I have a feeling that one may wish to keep an eye on HIP 23716 over the next few cycles—it has been invaded again, and at some point I imagine it will see another show of unity under Wakata Station.

Note that we have a Community Goal aimed at supplying Experimental Weapon Stabiliser modules, which will be quite good for heavier starships. If I combine the snippets I have skim-read thus far, it looks to be a class 3 internal module which raises the Experimental limit to five, and a class 5 module which raises it to six.

Is there something in coalsack they want or is it just a consequence of our actions which are probably more toward holding off in the other direction toward the bubble.

My theory is that they intend to reactivate the surface sites that appear to be crashed hive ships. My assumption is that it was upon one of these that Starvation built the Proteus Wave Device. So in essence, the second pulse, after the PWD was fired, was an SOS call.

But I have no idea where all of the crashed hive ships are, so this is just a guess...

Neites and Col 285 Sector AF-E b13-5 have a healthy start, and most systems from before have now returned in some capacity. Chibis joined the fight even sooner than I expected, we have several more first-week Invasion systems which saw Alert progress earlier, and we have a few spots of eviction activity in Fotlandjera, HIP 38235 and the uninhabited Hyades Sector ST-Q b5-1.

sorry if I am asking obvious. what state do I look for to make deliveries and ship out escape pods?
I was directed to the 1st page as it explains there or if you see my last post, one of the CMDR'S (sorry I forgot your username) helpfully outlined the same question I asked (in a roundabout way) :)

The first day was quite good; that initial progress projects approximately to another 10–11 systems. Returning are HIP 22496, Trianguli Sector GG-Y c18 and Lubal, the latter of which only had one total port it could lose, and we have some more eviction occurring in the empty systems HR 8536 and Mesarthim!

That was a thought which occurred to me, but I did not describe it fully. If you are evacuating escape pods from an attacked port, one thing you could do is check its Commodities Market for goods in demand (or accept a delivery mission), then bring those goods back after unloading the evacuees. Obviously this requires that you can find a suitable market to purchase the correct items, ideally which is on your exact route back to the Invasion system and not too far from its star.

If you are evacuating a damaged port, that idea would only work if the Invasion system also has some operational or attacked port where you can unload the goods, which means additional Supercruise time between the two ports.

I looked on eddb.io, and it doesn't look like you make much money delivering goods. Do you make any money running escape pods? Asking for a friend, who is saving up for an AX build.

if its easy money you want may be worth looking at the CG. there are AX related rewards too. berillyium is fetching decent profits and supply not been exhausted yet.

I am thinking of going to the barnacle forests however. 700k per meta alloy

At the moment I am taking two 80 passenger missions at a time in a Conda from Nietes to the rescue ship and they pay 9.4 million each from the unattacked station or over 11 million each from the Ground Port. Passenger missions in general pay very well with even the 16-28 passenger missions paying 2-4 million each. It's not going to match AX for money but for a non combative way of getting credits it's pretty good. I've made almost 5 billion from rescues since the war began and we're only into week 8, which is great for something I'm already doing.

There's good money in saving desperate rich people refugees.

The financial reward for each is not great, for example yesterday a 2 personnel one paid 125K and a 4 person one paid 700K - so not a fixed per casualty price but I don't know why there are differences. (Some are higher threat level which I assume were those that produced incoming assassins at Tarach Tor - maybe they were the higher reward.) Some offer decent materials options.

I did passenger ones the other day (in an Alert system) and found them annoying as you couldn't carry goods on return (which you can with medevac) and they didn't pay very well - 28 passengers for 2.9M and 32 for 2.7M for example.

Forgot to add - doing supply missions was quite good money.

The difference could just be within the RNG range...

Neites storming ahead, HIP 113076 returns, and Aowicha joins the fight! New eviction effort spotted in the empty systems Col 285 Sector TS-Z b14-3 and Arietis Sector VJ-R b4-0, and I see an interesting push at HIP 38235. If that one receives enough attention, there is time enough for it to become the first non-empty Control eviction!

This is quite the interesting cycle thus far! A quite sharp eviction burst in Fotlandjera has put it even with HIP 38235, so we have two rising candidates for recovering populated systems. At present I recommend very much that these are assumed to require combat support if you are able to do so; this is not to doubt those Commanders present now, rather to bolster the progress early on, because not all of the Invasion drive is transferable to help a Control drive.

Note that Fotlandjera is just a few systems away from Neites by M. Hadad, as is HIP 38235 from Col 285 Sector AF-E b13-5 at M. Cocijo.

Pretty please, with sugar on top - if you're going to fight the 'goids can you turn off reporting of crimes:

Victories in Neites and Col 285 Sector AF-E b13-5! HIP 2422 and HIP 20492 seem to be next in line by numbers. We have fresh Alert activity at Elboongzi and Dao Tzu, Benanekpeno joins the fight, and the great HIP 23716 has returned for its second Invasion!

Please note that Fotlandjera and HIP 38235 do not yet have enough combat attention for either to reach completion; it is difficult to attract a militia when Wings are needed to act productively and one cannot restock ammunition in-system. Commanders have a tricky decision to make, where too few diverting to help those systems could simply result in missed Invasion targets. Ideally, it should become normal for Commanders who seek simply to shoot some Thargoids to jump to the top Control system and locate others just by dropping at the nearest sensible Navigation marker.

This. ☝️

We all appreciate any and all war efforts, but by Sat/Sun going at it in systems under 30% - none of these are going to complete by Thursday.
Still - totally up to you. And yes, I am aware there are also 2 CG's going on (and I am participating), so very busy for us all, mainly best to just stick with top of the list from Saturday on and concentrate war efforts in just a few systems instead of 20.

Much of the main activity drive has moved over to the Community Goals, as anyone trying to jump a Fleet Carrier recently will have noticed! The shift is reasonable enough, and I am quite sure that seeing heavy starships with six AX weapons will be something quite good to receive in return. It is also projected to finish some time tomorrow, after which I imagine we will see a shift straight back to the Maelstroms, where said shifting is enough that it would be inappropriate to produce a specific extrapolation for now—simply, expect the cycle total to be lower and the effects of scattered activity to be heavier.

That said, more eviction was spotted in the empty system Col 285 Sector ZE-P c6-7, and Haushu joins the fight!

This might seem like a really silly idea, but have you actually ever completed a system recovery by your own actions? Or do you just take it for granted that they will auto-complete, even if has its own mechanics, and not bother with it.
You may be missing something there.
