Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

It definitely needs more variety of mission types & activities now, also missions / CZ’s that bring ground vehicle & on-foot players together more successfully… all the foundational work has been done - they can build on this and develop new game scenario’s now. The current CZ’s are to me like a combination of Vehicle Capture the Flag (if you use the SRV’s) and Holding Points game types - it would be great to see the Odyssey equivalent of full scale Onslaught with Vehicles now, ie: bringing together on foot, ground vehicles and even having a role for small ships / fighters to play - if they do this along with the introduction of Thargoid ground forces, it could all be spectacular :geek:
CZ wins ought to add material awards as well as cash and rank. Maybe 1 - 3 MIs depending on CZ difficulty... everything needs MIs, after all :D

When I logged back in my ship was hovering nose down at 38 Km above the moon. (y) I found a new to me Clypeus, got a codex for it.

This is a different, much darker Co2 moon.

Considering it took me 1/4 that amount of time to get ships nearly fully engineered, that's ridiculous.
I'm not focusing on Engineering, at all, I just happened to finally have what I needed...

Okay, story time again.

[Lots and lots and LOTS of wordz]...

What I am trying to say is what I always say about upgrading and engineering: Just play the game.
💯
A year and a half to get one mod?

No, thank you. That's not work. That's not even a grind. That's just flat out ridiculous and not something I would ever be even remotely interested in doing. It's supposed to be a game, which is supposed to be enjoyable and entertaining.

That is punishment. It's not remotely fun or enjoyable.
I don't grind...I just play the game. Yes, I have over 3700 hours, at last count, in game and there are many things I have not unlocked including Cutter and Corvette. In fact I just made Fed Lieutenant a few days ago.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the game world and advancing very slowly...

I've had a bad day for crashing into planets.
I bought another Anaconda today to outfit just for mining. I had most of the internals back at the carrier already, so I got rid of the crappy shield it came with.

Of course, the auto dock decides that it is moment to beat me half to death against the station wall. Made it out with 40% hull left. Two whacks was all it took.

Tussocks are usually very gregarious and like to gather with fellow Tussocks in large groups, that can extend for hundreds of meters. Looks like this one here though may have been sent to Coventry by its former friends, as it sits down feeling sad and lonely near the top of a rock. :(

Looks like a pioneer to me. It's preparing the soil for some colleagues.

I haven't owned an anaconda yet and, IIRC, the only reason I have a Vulture is because it was free...

Wait, you went to Colonia in a ship with a 12 LY jump range...

He looks just like me, his arms are a little smaller. Yeah, when I struck out for Colonia, I had absolutely no clue what I was doing, I went by this map but was slightly off to the left of the trail getting first discoveries and then ducking into one of the planetary bases to unload my data. The Sagittarian Gap was a real barn burner for me, I had to replot a dozen times and with a 1A fuel scoop, refueling was an agonizing prospect.

That's awesome, BTW...

I have a RL friend who accidentally took a passenger mission to Colonia. He did it in his 18 LY Dolphin...we estimate he did about 1000 jumps or more...

After a fair amount of dithering on the way, checking out various systems local to the carrier etc, I've finally arrived in Temple. (I was in this region once before in the Asp X before I bought the carrier, but not for long.)

Anyway here's some pointy mountains, which aren't so bad when they have relatively flat areas in amongst them, especially when they contain easy to find salad, such as the Fungoida and Osseus we have here:

I've had a bad day for crashing into planets. I'm multi tasking while exploring using supercruise assist intending to orbit the next planet I want to DSS until ready. Supercruise assist is crashing me into planet exclusions zones about 30% of the time 🤷😳
Set the throttle to 0% after you enable SCA. If there's something in the way it will stop and you can take over manually when you get back to the cockpit.
