Spring dlc Speculation 2023

Yeah at this point a tropical islands pack seems more plausible. I also wouldn't mind Oceania getting shafted because it makes it more likely for me to get my dream Oceania pack one day.

the kiwi is my most wanted among the three most Common Oceanian island animals - and my main zoo is set in Tasmania!
Off topic but oh please please tell me you included a replica of the something wild logo - world's biggest Tassie devil conservation site, and some of their devil's ate my mums sunglasses haha

Exciting times with the long-awaited Spring DLC theme soon to be revealed!

While we're waiting, I was trying to read up on the fossa, since it seems that's quite likely to be included based on the stream. Anyone know something interesting about fossas or have thoughts how it might feature in the game?

My very quick Google search revealed that they (1) spend large amounts of time in trees (2) can go down trees headfirst like a squirrel and (3) like to roam quite far {~males can travel up to 26km per day}.

The tree bit may explain why the latest update will include something about being able to set the climbing toggle. As for the roaming, I wonder whether fossas might prefer a larger habitat area.

Yeah i prefer the idea of a Discovery or Exploration pack than either islands or rainforests as scenery packs.
SEA would be a weird theme for that though.
Im not against such a pack, imo it be the best bet for the wolverine where it doesnt warp the definition of the pack to fit in, but it should be completly delve into the idear of an interactive education research base theme with animals like a spider monkey from the dense amazonian jungles, the rock hyrax (or arabian sand cat if we gotta be lame about it) for the scorching deserts of arabia and africa, the wolverine from the fridgid north (eventhough a second antarctican animal would fit thematicly much better) and the himalayan thar from the steep cliffs of the himalaya representing a diverse set of animals from all kinds of extreme enviroments. Meanwhile SEA and fossa dont really fit it that much, or atleast be just as much of a waste

Name an animal that fits…. For whine is it emblematic of ‘exploration’ or ‘discovery’?

Hint: with very few exceptions there were people who already knew all about it.
Well you might have a point because the one i can think of are either already ingame (Okapi, gorilla, platypus, kangaroo) or are deffinetly not coming to PZ because of mechanics or because they are extremely rare (ceolacanth, saola, echidnas)

TBH, I’ve never been there - I like Bonotrong though… my main is a recreation of Beaumaris (Hobart) zoo… in the 1930’s

I eventually plan to update it as if it never closed.

All of which only fit ‘discovery’ or ‘exploration’ from a European POV….

What do you guys think the color around the release will be. Grasslands Animal being Pink, Twilight pack; Maroon, Conservation pack; beige and more. I'm going to guess Marigold or something yellowish-orange.

I'm obsessed with Bonorongs Quolls
I really love your zoo concept. Not a Tassie local but travelled it extensively, with another 12 months exploring planned for next year
I’m not a local anymore (back in Vic) but did my PhD there…. I saw both types of quolls, devils, platypus, and much more in the wild whilst I was there. Great place to do research.

Short-beaked echidnas are very common zoo animals in Australia and their international presence isn't too shabby for an Oceanian mammal either (17 EAZA holdings) - I don't think they should rank alongside animals that aren't kept in captivity at all in regards to rarity.

Oh sorry i missread lol

Also do you guys think that the fact that they teased balinese architecture in particular is a hint that we might be gettin bali mynahs? (So birds for WE)
