Don't have much to add in regards to the update. Fighting Thargoids isn't really my thing, but that's the direction we seem to be going. Just glad to see an unlocked post after a month! Now that is something!
Locked posts are an absolute blessing for keeping important information narrowly focused. Really helps me out so thanks for staying patient with that o7

Have scouts been buffed in the update? I just took my shieldless Maelstrom Clipper for a quick recce, usually by the time I reach the Maelstrom I'm still on 97%+ hull (submit & boost away through all the interceptions). Today I'm down to 79% - each hit from a scout seemed to drop the hull 1%.

Just a few thoughts for you and the team.

Update 13 gave me hope for more of a science/non-combat route appearing, but the Kingfisher incident just before it, and then the content in Update 14 made it pretty clear the trajectory the team were pushing us along.
I'd hoped that Update 15 would bring more science, and there's a chance there will be some, but from the new module requiring combat materials to unlock it and my first looks into the Maelstrom it's definitely more combat focused.

It looks amazing! I love the whole aesthetics and the vibe, the audio is sublime, but pushing us down a combat only route is becoming increasingly disenfranchising for a growing number of players. And it's compounded by them feeling they don't want to even take part in new activities because they don't want the developers to think that people want to engage in that kind of content. And that is a real shame. Because if just getting to the centre is all we have that doesn't involve shooting things, then a lot of people will be disappointed.

A huge congratulations to the team for getting the update out and having a nice smooth launch.
Agreed. I've not been interested in anything Thargoid related at all, and this war is like a slap in the face, saying "we don't care if you don't want to fight Thargoids". I know there are a great many players who aren't interested, and a lot of them are leaving the game until this is all over, and something more interesting comes along... IF anything comes along at all, and if it hasn't been too long that they just don't come back at all...
We still need other activities to do. We'd even not mind if it's just non-combat Thargoid interactions, but leaving out a large portion of the player base is, quite frankly, stupid.🤷‍♂️

I'm getting the same on regular Frontier launcher.
Click upgrade and it just sits there.
One occasion it did get to the update bar but just sat there for 40mins.

Pfft!
I also was wondering why the launcher did not update, just displaying "Preparing for update". Checking with Performance Monitor, I saw that about 100 GB of game files were read through, before it finally started to sync files with the update server. On non-SSD hard drives that seems to possibly take more than 45 minutes or so. I switched off real-time anti-virus monitoring in the hope to make this faster. There really should be some indication that the launcher was doing something during all that time.

Totally with you, another game I play had a DLC release today too. Considering that I'm not interested in combat and am something like 2000ly outside the bubble anyway, then Update 15 to me wouldn't look much different than if I loaded up yesterday and played. Given the choice between Update 15 and the other DLC, which one do you think I'm loading up tonight?

Logged in, station's internals looks better, fps better, maps' changes I like.
Last push to it - add landing pads' sizes to the map for Ody settlements. There is no way to know it from map yet. 2 years later.
Scroll bars on maps are bugged - if you move it holding down mouse button (not by the scroll wheel) then it scrolls/zooms/moves related map as it would be no scroll bar there.
Carriers are bugged again. Docked to mine, enabled suspended services - and nothing, in menus buttons are disabled. Relog to main menu fixes. So it was not enough of time to push FC's settings buttons, now need relog on each dock. Nice.
P.S. I always disable all services once I used it, so this is game breaking bug for me.

Well, took me minutes to upgrade on 900Mbps, I thought it had not done anything, but on launching, first thing I checked is FC's in system Map - WOW, just 1 placemark for ALL FCs and 2nd placemark for mine, WOW, Thank You for listening to us FDev!!

Looking forward to seeing all the other stuff in U15.
Unfortunately, I will have to grind for even the Caustic Heat Sink Launcher before getting the New Field Neutraliser as I am finding it difficult even to get 1 Caustic Tissue Sample in the Maelstrom - got everything else BTW :( (keep getting destroyed in Krait II, so maybe will try Conda tomorrow).

I have seen inside the belly of the beast.

Phil Mitchell should have worn his brown trousers.

I can confirm this - we can no longer engineer Caustic Sink Launchers.
They used to be in Heatsink Launcher category which made it possible to apply heatsink blueprints to them but U15 moved them to experimental modules which made it now impossible to use the blueprints on them.
Do previously engineered ones retain their engineering following the update?
