Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

My X52 is quite blue (cyan glow in the dark), possibly why I haven’t changed the HUD colours in all this time - it contrasts quite nicely with orange and matches the light blue details :]

I'd like to thinkn so! I'm not sure if it wil cut through shields, armour, then head, in one go though.

Well, a normal body shot strips shields, a second most armor and a third (if necessary) any health left as a result of the damage protection mod - i’ve not yet tried the headshot damage mod on the Executioner… it should be uhmm very efficient ;]

"Bone, mush, bone" as Alfie Solomon's once put it...

Must admit I had thought a pic of Michael Caine, not Tom Hardy, would appear when i googled that :D

I'm pretty sure only the shotgun can do damage to both shield and body in one shot, simply because it has more than one projectile. The first one(s) break the shield and the rest kill the NPC.

Possibly I'm wrong, but let us know how your new gun performs!

My alt account has been spying on the Taranis Titan.
Unfortunately I got spotted by a Glaive that turned aggressive unlike the Interceptors I have encountered in here. Maybe it was the Unclassified Relic I was carrying. Fireworks from everywhere ensued and I had to run away.

Not to get repetitive, but DO let me know if you want company.
Sure come out and join me. I went with just Quain and an alt account I will use for trading, mining and tritium refueling in Quain's absence so I could choose my own schedule. I'm planning to leave the carrier in this area for quite a few weeks and take Quain onward to Colonia for a while, and then head to the most 'westerly' point in the galaxy before returning to the carrier. I will use the alt account for some core mining whenever I feel like it. I've found quite a few core mining ring systems one jump away from the 'home base'. One Monazite hot spot I've found is quite big and gives a Monazite core about 7 out of 8 times and it rarely takes as long as 5 minutes to find one.
The area is not good for high metal content worlds and metallic rings for laser mining platinum. I've not found any yet. Good core mining rings are everywhere.

Prices offered on The Silver Citadel are really low so my alt account can sell there and later I will use this account to ship the minerals to market so that he gains some trade rank out of this.
I imagine you will bring your own carrier out here if you come.

I, my friend, am already there. Got there yesterday afternoon. Turns out I had the system thumbnailed and totally forgot about it. I'll be out there mining in about an hour.

It was actually sort of fun. I did a 'Smokey and the Bandit' strategy.

I was already about 1,200 LY away from the carrier exploring, so I plotted the course for the carrier and sent it on its way while I plotted my own course for the Phantom and headed out.

It was 77 jumps for the Phantom. The carrier beat me by about 20 minutes because I stopped several times along the way to map planets and do some exobiology. It was a pretty fun thing, really. A lot more fun than just going back to the carrier and plodding along doing nothing for 18 minutes at a go.

I think that's going to be my default way to move my carrier from here on out.

Here is where I am mining Monazite right now: NGC 6842 Sector JH-V c2-9 planet 2 ring A.
Curious to see of you found this a good or better location than that other system we were using before.

Those Glaives are, as far as I have heard, always hostile if they spot you. But, according to Mr. Turner, it is possible to play hide and seek with them and successfully lose them in the landscape of these titans...

Well, the long-range rifle is certainly an interesting beast in a CZ but it takes a little getting used to. In the medium I just experimented with, it was able to two-shot (alas, no one shots :( ) every enemy but hitting a moving target wasn't easy.

I kept yelling at them to stand still but the blighters just weren't wearing it.

I'll try a high I think.
It's not like the railgun in Quake III?

For something different in between CZ's, I'm going to try something a little unorthadox.

I'm going to build a ship that deliberately has a very short jump range but with a good fuel scoop. The thinking is that I want to visit a load of systems I haven't yet been to within the bubble just to get their layouts so I can check what the system looks like before doing other stuff like CZ's, on-foot missions etc.

By plotting a long route, and selecting only non-visited stars, I should cover a nice amount of gound.

At the moment. it'll either be a hauler or adder. Probably not optimal for my requirements but I don't have any other use for them :D

PLENTY of cores, but most are not Monazite.
This is exactly what I found.

NGC 6842 Sector JH-V c2-9 planet 2 ring A has been giving me Monazite something like 10 out of 13 cores.
My last run here I got:
16t Serendibite
16t Musgravite
13t Benintoite
145t Monazite

There are a lot of Benintoite hotspots in this area and it fetches a slightly higher price than Monazite. I've not tried any of them yet.
A few more places I've found but not tried:
NGC 6842 Sector WE-Q b5-3 A 9 ring B Tritium x 3 and Granderite
NGC 6842 Sector WE-Q b5-3 A 9 ring A Serendibite, Alexandrite x 5, Monazite, Musgravite
NGC 6842 Sector UJ-Q b5-0 1 ring A Serendibite x 4, Alexandrite x 3, Benitoite x 3, Musgravite, Monazite x 2
NGC 6842 Sector UJ-Q b5-0 1 Benitoite + Monazite

The one in bold looks interesting to try.

CMDR Flynn Coopman in a white Python will be back online at about 17:00 in game time. I'll play in open in case you are about and head to NGC 6842 Sector JH-V c2-9 planet 2 ring A . I use the bigger of the two Monazite hotspots.
