Which in-game species have you seen IRL?

Back at it again, the arid pack was a pretty close home run. I also separated the species I have seen in the wild from the captive animals. I recommend to read my last post so the rules I used to rank "impossible subspecies" are understood.
I'm reviving the thread once again! I love seeing what everyone has seen or hasn't seen ahahah. I've updated my list:
  • The Tropical Pack was pretty generous with me, 4 out of 5! Of course, hard to see three-toed sloths with none in the continent ahaha.
  • I also added some of the "impossible" subspecies into the "Seen" list, taking under account I may never see said subspecies and I'll just pretend they represent ssps I have seen IRL. Here goes the list of what each of them represents:
    • Bengal tiger: Representing non-subspecific tigers and Sumatran tigers.
    • West-African lion: Representing non-subspecific lions, Asiatic lions, Southeast african lions and Southwest african lions.
    • Ussuri dhole: Representing Chinese dholes.
    • Taiwan black bear: Representing non-subspecific Asiatic black bears.
    • Himalayan brown bear: Representing Eurasian brown bears and Syrian brown bears.

Only note this time:
  • I have seen Dama gazelles, and apparently the game's zoopedia doesn't specify the subspecies, but it was commented over here that the game's gazelle is Nanger dama ruficollis. I have only seen Nanger dama mhorr, and ruficollis is not an "impossible" subspecies to see in a future, so it went to the Not seen category.

My update for the Arid Animal Pack. As well as those, a number of invertebrates have moved up to the 'seen' category after visiting an invertebrate zoo in the spring and I have also just realised that I put the Alpine ibex in the wrong section.

One thing I learned while doing this is just how rare the dromedary is in the UK - only three places keep them, of which only one is what I would call a traditional zoo (the others are a specialist camel park and a mostly private zoo that keeps animals trained for working in films and television).

Here's mine. Finally some stuff for my region:

I have recently just added myself to the forums and am making this my first post! This is my list of animals I have seen in zoos/aquariums. It may not be entirely accurate as it has been a number of years since I have been to some of the zoos but I think it is the best I can do right now.

Here is a list of the places I have seen them:
. Franklin Park Zoo, Boston MA
. Stone Zoo, Stoneham MA
. Southwick’s Zoo, Southwick MA
. Capron Park Zoo, Attleboro MA
. Roger Williams Park Zoo, Providence RI
. New England Aquarium, Boston MA
. National Zoo, Washington D.C
. Maine Wildlife Park, Gray ME
. Mystic Aquarium, Mystic CN
. Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Orlando FL
. The Seas with Nemo and friends, Orlando FL
. Sea World, Orlando FL
. My real life backyard, MA
. Other places I’ve randomly seen animals

That's a beautiful tierlist, did you make the images yourself?

I definitely don’t live in the region with the most interesting wildlife, so much of the animals I’ve seen in the wild have been on vacations, such as the pronghorn when I went to Arizona.

I decided to just only include the exhibit animals that I know I have seen. I have been to a lot of reptile houses and simply can't remember what I have and haven't seen for most of the exhibit species. I'm going to both the Bronx Zoo and Zoo de Granby in July, so I'm super excited to add a few species to my "Seen" tier.

HEEEEYYYYY Fellow New Englander! I'm in central Maine so I haven't been to all of these zoos, but I'm hoping to visit Stone Zoo this summer. I went to Franklin Park in April and loved it! I went to both Southwick's and Roger Williams in July of 2021.

AYYYY another new englander!

Updated for Arid Animal Pack, as well as my latest zoo visits. I’m not fussing over subspecies, but this should be accurate to the species level (I previously felt the domestic water buffalo was close enough to count but I’ve reversed on that).

19C7C63C-40EB-48E8-B94C-50F812ED056D.png

I’ve got trips planned to a whopping 5 new zoos (Knoxville, North Carolina, Jacksonville, Brevard, and Tampa) as well as the Duke Lemur Center and return trips to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and its associated Lodge within the next 3 months, so I felt justified in adding a category with the species I should be able to pick up from those. Just 6 seems a bit low, but I’m also starting to approach the limit of what I’m realistically able to see within the US, especially the southeast. I think the maned wolf is the only one I’m confident about where I could see it (Greensboro Science Center) that I could realistically visit within the near future.

I'll also wait until the fast-approaching next DLC before I do a proper update to my list, but of the animals in the Tropical Pack I've only seen the lar gibbon (which is the only one of them kept in Australia anyway). I will also be able to move the Japanese macaque into my seen list after I saw them at Gorge Wildlife Park in January this year.

Additionally, I'll be passing through a lot of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory on a road trip next month, and while the main goal there is to see as many wild mammal species as possible I'm also planning to pop into a few zoos along the way. One of these, the National Zoo & Aquarium, has a pair of Sri Lankan leopards, so I should hopefully see my first leopards and be able to move the Amur leopard into the "other subspecies seen" category. Adelaide Zoo had Persian leopards when I was growing up (last one died about a decade ago, also the last of the subspecies in Australia) but I can't recall ever seeing them myself, and I want to be sure before I add them to my list. The National Zoo also has llamas, but unsurprisingly those are less exciting when it comes to species I haven't seen before.

I'm actually most excited to visit the Australian Reptile Park, given it has a whole bunch of awesome reptile species that I haven't seen before - king cobra, Solomon Islands skink, sheltopusik, Madagascar giant day gecko, Philippine sailfin lizard, even tuatara! Unfortunately, none of those are in the game as of now.
List updated with the changes listed above, as well as the new animals from the Arid Animal Pack! As well as adding leopards and llamas to my seen list thanks to the National Zoo & Aquarium, I also got the surprise of seeing the Mexican red-knee tarantula at the Australian Reptile Park, a species I was not even aware was kept in Australia:

Here's my updated list! I've added a few species as I visited the Stone Zoo, Bronx Zoo, and Zoo de Granby this past week. I've been to almost all the zoos in the Northeast US now, so to see new species I will have to travel a bit! 😂 I'm hoping to do an Ohio zoo road trip (Columbus, Cincinnati, Toledo, and Clevland Metroparks) next summer and hit up the National Zoo in D.C.
