Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

Slightly confused here - as far as I could tell by looking on the Galaxy Map, Omumba is an ex-inhabited Control with 12% progress.
My bad there, I forgot to restart Elite between us probinating Tharg in those PN-T systems and me running the scan.
It can misread if the galaxy map seizes for a bit when finding a system, and the only 100% defence I know against that failure mode is to run it fresh so it doesn't happen.

Actually now that INTRA these days doesn't/needn't rely on scan data to know what's going on with system states, I'll turn it into a warning if the state doesn't match.
That doesn't quite replace running it fresh because it could still happen with matching states.... unless the state difference causes the galaxy map seizing... hmm!

Interim update, now up to 4,202 samples for Matshiru on-carrier - had mention of 705 waiting in the wings now c/o Phill so, two good runs and that's sorted, will get those done shortly. KR-W b1-4 wise received 332 so far so, good third of the way there in turn. Long as I can get some solid time in before thargsday things are looking pretty solid I think.

Leigong is one Jementi away from losing its fifth attack, a system at almost exactly 25 Ly and should have around 1550 strength.

Speaking of Omumba, it has an impressive amount of progress for a inhabited Control system at 13.6 Ly, a distance for which we had no information even before the previous strength change. With a very loose projection 15 Ly was around 16500 strength, and Gandje at 14.9 Ly measured just over 17000, placing Omumba a little out of reach for adopting its completion.

Well done, and thank you! If all is well there, I am thinking to complement that by emptying M. Taranis of further attackers—five of which you can see above—with the possible exception of Ildano depending on time. Nine others remain!

I love it! That will be quite the delivery operation, though doubtless emboldened following the previous one. For the sake of reducing risks, I presume the plan will be to open with said delivery at the start of a cycle, that we have time aplenty to complete it and correct any mistakes or accidents?

I certainly assume so, although this time that'll be more CMDR Lion12's decision than mine!

@Aleks Zuno - do you intend to cut off Gandje from the Maelstrom rather than letting it get Alerted once we’ve cleared it? I’ve been supporting it since it’s a near-perfect system for Invasion defence and would be difficult to clear at Alert, so it would be a good source of content for Invasion pilots - but looking at its possible attackers, it looks at least possible to prevent it from being Alerted altogether. Do you intend to actually do so?

By no means! I remember well the reason for going to that much effort to clear it, and I have labelled such systems with invasion requested in the past; it occurs to me that any visible progress at an attacker ought to be given attack requested.

It occurred to me also that it would be well to check the actual list of possible attackers, that INIV or others might avoid isolating Gandje inadvertently, or at worst allow those attackers to recover and become Control again. We have within ten light-years of Gandje:
  • Hyades Sector GW-W d1-81 at 21.7 Ly, which INIV cleared last week to guard Ge.
  • Trianguli Sector ZJ-A b1 at 22.2 Ly, which INIV cleared last week to guard Hyades Sector YZ-O b6-3.
  • Trianguli Sector EQ-Y b3 at 17.3 Ly.
  • Hyades Sector GW-W d1-87 at 17.7 Ly, which almost became an INIV target last week to guard Senocidi.
Insofar as any of those would be back-attacking Gandje at 14.9 Ly, that should make it a top target most of the time. None of those appear on the attackers list this week, although again it would be well if I present that list for review! Said attackers marked for eviction are:
  • Hyades Sector EQ-O b6-2
  • Hyades Sector DQ-O b6-2
  • Hyades Sector DQ-O b6-4
  • Hyades Sector GW-W d1-82
  • Hyades Sector XO-Q b5-3
  • Hyades Sector GW-W d1-88
  • Ildano, if we have time.
  • Hyades Sector HB-N b7-0
  • Hyades Sector CV-O b6-6
  • HIP 26534
At present my Carrier is across the other side of M. Taranis ready to harvest the four with -O in the name, all over 30 Ly from Gandje. The closest to Gandje is GW-W d1-82 at 19 Ly, and a few are just over 20 Ly. If any of those systems should be left intact, or more generally if it would be better for us to move to a different Maelstrom, please say so!

Whilst I would request that at least one of Gandje's attackers be left intact unless doing so would cause significant issues for the wider war, I've no isse with any other system being cleared. Feel free to keep up the good work!

Something else of note - due to the simplicity of sampling a Scout, I'm currently testing out "being my own wingmate" and sampling with two accounts at once! It is going well and should hopefully increase my sampling output considerably.
EDIT: Also, doing so appears to be increasing my sample return rate! I'll need to keep going to confirm this, but it is rather interesting.

It works quite well; I have flown both of me for many or most of the ~250 INIV missions. Having V around to help me worked wonders for longer-range harvesting when we really needed landfall planets, for that allowed regeneration to continue indefinitely during a restock:

It is all open-harvests now of course, and we use four!

It's actually very straightforward to clear as an Alert. The large station is perfect for evacs and wing deliveries. It's more work due to the maelstrom distance but that's the same for any activity.

Well then - if the system's good for both, all the more reason to let it become one of Taranis' five targets!

With activity now visible in Matshiru, I will presume that we are amid delivery, for that is much more likely than a mysterious 14% progress suddenly. That being the case, note that the systems listed here are likely to follow it! Unfortunately the time taken for a large delivery is such that we can see partial results, though I am sure that the evening check will reveal more.

Main delivery will be later - Phill's 705 went in first as they were on a separate carrier, that + some tritium dumping meant enough carrier space for FB-N b7-3, currently at 1,560 samples there.
Looking like Wednesday will be available as a whole for the bulk delivery, we'll see how today goes.

Another update on Gandje...
Gandje Control 0% (84%) - Taranis 14 Ly, ~2025 strength

Should probably have the samples ready to start unloading before the Thursday tick, but we'll wait until then to minimise risk.

Goodness; understood! Our plan for the next two evenings, then—

Tuesday

Hyades Sectors XO-Q b5-3, GW-W d1-82 and GW-W d1-88 to bring M. Taranis down to 7 targets, 6 inhabited.
The remainder for Jementi at M. Leigong to guard Garongxians, unless @DarkSession knows of any plans to complete it!
Split up during delivery such that one of us collects instead the last few at Pegasi Sector AR-J a10-3, for delivery Wednesday.

Wednesday

At some point, that bulk delivery should bring M. Taranis down to 4 targets, 3 inhabited.
Arrive by Ildano, but with two jumping to Hyades Sector EG-N b7-3 nearby for its last 120.
Begin at Ildano while watching here carefully for any signs of assistance required.
Deliver if we can complete it to leave M. Taranis with 3 inhabited targets, but prioritise help and withhold it if needed.

Ildano is not particularly necessary this week; it produces one empty Alert at just beyond 30 Ly, such that it is much more important that your operation to protect Imeut is successful! In priority order, our actions should be:
  • Jementi
  • Assistance if needed
  • Clean-up at M. Taranis
  • Ildano
If anyone is planning to finish Pegasi Sector AR-J a10-3 or Hyades Sector EG-N b7-3, please do so—I do not want to leave them unfinished, and saving us a visit will help a lot!

Definitely wise! It must be quite tempting and there is a case for getting it into and out of Recovery sooner, but ultimately Gandje has to wait another couple of weeks before it has anything available to be attacked, so the safer option is quite fine.

Now showing this one as complete, Thargoid withdrawl in 1 day.

If I may suggest, I think you may be a few pages behind—Bi Dhorora was complete on Sunday, announced here!
