EXOBIOLOGICAL EXPRESSION

This was quite the successful session. Already have 5/6 bios found, 4 of them already scanned. 5th needs two more scans and #6 is theinfamous Fungoida again...
The place I selected for touchdown at the end of last session was unknowingly well selected. Tussock Cultro sage, Stratum Tectonitas turquoise and Bacterium Alcyoneum sage were all within a radius of 1km of the ship. All three scans. Took off and selected a new area, this time for Cactoida. First thing I found was Frutexa Metallicum in teal, again, all three scans in the proximity of the ship. Left this place, flying low, climbing the wall of a crater. On the other side, some faily flat terrain and some oddly formed rocks. Took a closer look, must be those cactoids. Landed, disembarked, scanned and started to look for the next patch. But I noticed that the darkness started taking its toll. Returned back to ship and logged out.

Unless there is a peaceful way to get to these data ports (preferably one that doesn't have a "screw up option" that forces you to fight on foot, there is a problem.
Oh there is. If you do power restoration missions you can go around after powering up the base and check the data ports. No enemies.

As for the on-foot fighting, if I can do it anyone can do it. I'm terrible at FPS type games.

I'm also 72 and slow. I wasn't fast when I was young and haven't improved! :p

But Odyssey is more about being smart than being fast. I have practiced, and I'm stealthy. I can take out an entire base full of people if I actually need to, and never be seen. But most of the time I don't have to fight at all.

The actual fighting is a bit like RPG stuff, similar in my mind to Skyrim or Fallout. It's not super demanding.

Not gonna lie, that sounds somewhat promising. If someone of my parent's age can do this, I should indeed be able to do it, too.
Maybe, one day, I'll give it a try. But at the moment there is a really uncomfortable feeling creeping up on me when I think of fighting...
I don't really know what it is, but it could be some inherited PTSD from my mother's father...

But you have provided me with some really useful information. Cheers for that.

This location is notable because it is as far 'west' as you can go from the Sol.
The final two jumps to get here were
159.7072
137.1639
light years each. So you need an almost 80ly jump range plus level 3 FSD injections to get here.
To date I have been to the most northerly, southerly and now this westerly point in the galaxy. The eastern point I might save until next year, or at least late this year and try to hit Elite V in exploration in the process. I have no plans for a circumnavigation of the galaxy, but never say never.

Wow. Good going...!

My own father is 89, but has been describing computer games (and sometimes just computers) as "a complete waste of time" since I was 7 and he was 45... anyway, it seems i might have about another 21 years of this to go (if i'm still on this planet then ;p) ...hope EDO does too^

Indeed, ninja / phantom / cat burglar is the way here - it makes for a refreshing change from more typical FPS...

...yep, though until we get levels 6-10 and the guards finally get their jetpacks mebbe? ;]

You should target the Sol system to show your actual light years in you screen shot, cool at any rate, nice to see an old school Annie. (y)

Impressive!

I guess there's a lot to learn, still...

But that's for the future.
Found the rest of the Cactoida Lapis mauve, but as usual, no luck finding the "Fun"goida... Lots and lots of Frutexa Metallica and Tussock Cult, but the fungoids don't show up.

I think next up would be to explore the Guardian ruins...
I am a little concerned about any guards or sentry towers... I only got one SRV.

Nice bright spot. And an impressive feat to get there.
