Elite Dangerous 'New Launcher' live today!

I installed from My Downloadable Products in the store, using the 'not very intuitive' Elite Dangerous - Alpha - Download* option. No issues other than having to let Windows Defender allow the download, then all was well.
* This may vary depending on when the original game was installed, but should be the top option I think.

It is faster but I do not understand the interest to put the image of Odyssey in such a big place and to have to go down to see the rest the news of the Galnet were much more visible before.
In any case, in addition to being faster, it is also more pleasant. Thanks for the work :).

I also think it would be better to have the News or the store first instead of the image of Odyssey.

Is there a way to skip the account confirmation when starting the launcher (from Steam)?

I clicked run anyway & it's installed & working now. /edh switch still works :D

Previously I would open the launcher & just click the version I wanted to play then launch, two clicks. With the new one it appears I must click versions to see the choice, select the one I want then return to the main page to click play, an extra click. It would be handy if selecting the version just launched it immediately and set it to default for next time to save a click. Right now it's defaulting to Odd each time I open it.

Putting the version choice on the main page (there's plenty of room on the right) would be good, like how the old one did it.

It also sounds like the last time (time before>) when FD used the wrong link and everybody was messing about trying to get it to work before FD pointed to the correct link without so much as an apologu for wasting everyone's time. (Again) (tm).

Have just tried it out on the GeforceNow platform, looks great and works fine.

Had one minor comment, each time I launch the game a new Frontier "Hardware reporter" window pops up in front of the main login window, with a progress bar for gathering hardware statistics. I can either let it complete or just cancel it to get to the login window behind, so it's only a minor annoyance - presumably it's there every game launch since GeforceNow provides a new VM each time.

After changing settings in the launcher, like language, the launcher does not restart properly.
Don't like the new launcher! Scrolling to get the news is a bad design decision.
