Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

But the Xeno one seems to behave a bit weird, for example the Decon limpet seems to be the 3E decon not the 1E as expected, which means it repairs better than the repair limpet from the same Xeno MLC.
It is entirely possible they have a "better" research limpet (3E equivalent - which doesnt actually exist as single controller)

Interesting! I knew that the multi-limpets behave as with the next-lower class, though not the Xeno Decontamination exception. The Xeno seems to have the same performance as the Research, so I think its 3C or 3B designation has no special access to anything other than 1E for Research, although...

Edit: i just re-read your post and you seem to imply that ULC are worse than Single and MLC and not that Xeno MLC is better than Single/ULC
oh well... still that doesnt change the fact that Decons from Xeno MLC repair better than repair limpets from the same Xeno MLC

I was saying that the Xeno and the Universal both can turn eight Research limpets into eight items at much the same rate. To use your earlier idea, an interesting way to frame that difference is to guess that there exists a hypothetical 5C Research which has been made slower than the 1E!

It could be since FDev are known to balance things, as in if something gets improved, it also gets a flaw to balance the aforementioned improvement
And having 8 research limpets in a single internal (albeit a very large internal) could warrant an added flaw.

however, it could be just a bug - as always, with FD is very hard to know if something is a feature or a bug

That looks like another gotcha that's impossible to figure out from what the game tells you since the info on the limpet grades isn't shown anywhere on multi limpet controllers.

Last few victories in HR 8536, Pegasi Sector EB-W b2-7 and Trianguli Sector EQ-Y b4! That was fifty-six systems with the new update survived, all Alerts stopped, and just over 70% of a quite special treat for HIP 9016 in the week upcoming.

With even non-human signals disappearing from Alert systems upon completion, nothing really overachieved this week to the same extent as before—given the circumstances, Paitra did very well to reach 144%.

As hinted, Operation Redacted has been doing quite well and has 14215 of 20043 cargo stored, placing it 1.5 days ahead of the original schedule with twelve for collection and two for delivery. Hopefully nothing changes further regarding surface sites which prevent completion; hardly this could be the case with HIP 9016 itself having no planets, although we are watching Arietis Sector BQ-P b5-0 and HIP 9709. All three will be getting a strength measurement!

System strength statement

368 units delivered for Col 285 Sector KM-V d2-72 has completed it versus an estimated 366.12; quite thankfully for us, it is fine to proceed with any deliveries. The actual progress became 101.0567%, yielding a projected strength of 364.2, such that system strengths appear to be unchanged.

Additionally, all three Operation Redacted systems still can be completed:
  • 110 units for HIP 9016 became 0.5488%, projecting 20041–20044 (this does not invalidate the previous 112 units limiting the strength to 20043).
  • 40 for HIP 9709 became 1.3334%, projecting 3000.
  • 40 for Arietis Sector BQ-P b5-0 became 0.9825%, projecting 4071–4072.

It's probably worth retesting TBM systems can be attacked - maybe they were only immune for the first tick?

Definitely, yes! Insofar as Trianguli Sector KR-W b1-4 has an Alert which could be caused only by the site-bearing Hyades Sector HW-M b7-4, I am not sure that I like the idea of some Control systems being immovable, but also suggesting on the Galaxy map that they can be cleared, and also being able to attack.

Assuming nothing changes with Arietis Sector BQ-P b5-0 and HIP 9709 we will still discover whether T. Leigong can attack and guard HIP 9016 if not, but I am considering an eviction pause as long as those systems remain that way. They do not have to be cleared necessarily; it would be well enough to have some way to prevent the attacks!

Have you considered prioritizing clearing control systems with atmo worlds suitable for barnacles so if there's another wave of barnacles there's less potential systems for them?

Sadly, all glitched conflict zones have now been removed - meaning that there is no longer any difference between a system that was previously evicted from Control and one which wasn't.
Definitely, yes! If you're no longer interested in cleanup due to the invincible systems, have you considered focusing on inhabited systems - especially those closer to the Maelstroms + with station layouts that make good Alerts/Invasions? The problem of too little Alert/Invasion difficulty for everyone that wants to do the activities exclusive to these systems is now even worse, and I and many, many others would be very grateful if a group with as much Control-clearing punch as INIV started helping to alleviate the problem!

It's probably worth retesting TBM systems can be attacked - maybe they were only immune for the first tick?
Initial push of half a dozen scout kills in trianguli sector eq-y b0 saw 0.000000 warprogress after the next hour's calculation + the 15m to update display... Have noted the system to folk my side anyway, will keep checking now and then to see if ad-hoc efforts see it shift off complete 0 over the week.

Perhaps, yes; if those sites are going to interfere with the approach of keeping to a specific perimeter and manipulating the attacks, the default response is to ignore the attacks and act simply to effect a high number of evictions, but I quite like the idea of noticing and responding to a pattern such as atmospheric landfall planets. V was talking excitedly about including those data to help us list which systems lack them and therefore should always be achievable, but I imagine the same changes could direct us conversely to systems where denial would be useful!

If you're no longer interested in cleanup due to the invincible systems, have you considered focusing on inhabited systems - especially those closer to the Maelstroms + with station layouts that make good Alerts/Invasions?

Also perhaps, though a bit less sure about that unless there is a clear combined push to win one. The main source of being unsure begins with how it would increase strength of attacked systems without also reducing the volume in which the attacks occur, which would forego the option to limit them, concluding with me getting quite worried about those clearing the Alerts becoming a bit weary.

Without ruling out some inhabited system evictions closer to a Maelstrom, I will say that I loved very much seeing how quickly our cleared empty systems around T. Hadad became swarmed with Fleet carriers! Then again, I also love seeing other discussions here predicated on inhabited systems we recaptured, such as with Commanders enjoying the Recovery opportunities. Perhaps we could push a bit into the 15–20 light-year range there with systems such as Vasupari in terms of strength, although I will check first the list of systems which enable Control reactivation which appeared somewhere in this topic and try to avoid those (or indeed, try to capture other inhabited systems close to those).

Whist it would indeed restrict the capability to limit those systems retaken close to the Maelstrom, there is a lot of leeway before any such system would become Controlled again - even if the Alert pilots let some systems slip through, there are many combat pilots who would happily return to the warfront to fight off new Invasions!

Something I refrained from suggesting during earlier operations, but may be appropriate now—have you considered intermediate deliveries? Perhaps not daily as we do normally, for it could disrupt things a bit if you are running an open market, but it may help with avoiding overlap!

Victories in Aowicha, HIP 20527 and Trianguli Sectors FL-Y b5 and EQ-Y b5! T. Taranis seems to be under quite heavy attack, presumably still not all due to any announced or known activity.

In the meantime—harvesting at HIP 9016 is now complete! I do hope the delivery goes well and that nothing was miscalculated, though being three days ahead of the original schedule should give much time for any corrections.

Speaking of corrections, I think limpets have changed again. This was what I wrote earlier, towards the end of the previous cycle:

As with the class 1 Research, those four limpets from the Xeno also each harvest Thargoids at around twice the rate compared to the Universal. If the eight from the Universal are worth 8 harvest rate, the Xeno is also worth 8 rate and a Research is worth 2 rate.

At the time, Xeno Research limpets were competitive with standard Research limpets, where chance movements could cause either to return sooner than the other. Today, the Xeno Research seemed to have a very suspiciously lower performance than that, definitely somewhere between the Universal rate and its previous rate.

I then switched back to the Universal limpet during a restock, and witnessed an immediate improvement, as if the Universal had also been hastened to match the Xeno as far as Research limpets are concerned. Suffice to say the Universal should be considered irreplaceable again!

EQ-Y b7 dealt with in turn now, leaving EQ-Y b0 (and its surface shenanigans) the only one in that vicinity under thargoid control - I look forward to seeing if that impacts its invulnerability.
I know at least forces from PDES and 'operation kleenex' explain the alerts, further recaptures I'm less informed on...

In the meantime, decided to do something silly.
So, Invicta's in Muruidooges, with an initial 10k buy order towards getting Omumba out of folk's hair with any luck.
I've seen hive, canonn, reforge aegis, imperial xeno defence, and the combat forces our side push there... best result i caught to date was that one week where it surpassed 50%, but, efforts yet continue, hundreds of kills a day logged.

So, I'll throw 200k cr per sample and whatever time I get into it, whether it moves at any speed, and whether anyone wants to see a limpet again afterwards will be another matter...
-- carrier logistics have been arranged at least, so if the samples come, they can be brought through.

I am emphatically happy to present the closest Control eviction to date:

HIP 9016 2.png

It is also the strongest Control eviction for the moment, at least until everyone finally overthrows the Thargoids in Omumba! With any luck, and especially without any more immovable systems, we should discover after up to four weeks.what happens regarding whether a Titan can attack a system directly.
