Still the same problem and still the same frustration.....
The struggle came from the lack of communication on game vision and direction..... Does frontier really have a long term vision for ED ?
- Just let the game producer talk about his vision and what does he want to achieve in 4 years (even if it just dream, you have to think big in order to achieve just enough
)
- Then let the product owner explain how they split this 4 years vision into features and project, and we have a projection t-shirt sizing roadmap for the next 4 years...
In that way, the devs are happy because they know what to do. What to face to prevent architecture decision that could complicate the next steps and they are more efficient to deliver valuable features for players.
Then community management should communicate each quarter, on what have been done, what is currently in progress and what have been delayed cause of some development impediment (and we, as players can understand that sometimes happens and forgive them for the delay) and what is not started yet but remain on focus as objectives.
If they achieve to do that kind of communication, I'm pretty sure that all the community will commit on Elite and even get bigger and stronger.
Despite Fdev is thinking, they are not working on a secret defense project. There is no strategy risk to publicly communicate on what they are focusing. Especially because nowadays, they are not space sims leaders any more. All their competitors achieve to delivers more valuable updates than Fdev done in the past years....
Remember the last time we had news about the road map? It was one year ago, and they promise a "key feature overhaul" for early 2023. We now are late 2023 and still don't have it, and don't know what it could be.
My only guess it they don't know what they are doing and just wasting time and money on useless development that’ll never be release. Maybe it's time for a wind of change in Elite headquarters….
Oops I did it agin, and i write too much....
