Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

Just wondering, what would u guys think of a greater Asia animal pack.

It could give us Himalayas stuff like takin and markor. We could also get things like the Mandarin duck, yellow throated marten or Indian monkey species.
I prefer Takin and Markhor in a Highalnds Animal Pack. The duck I don't need but it can fit into a temperate woodlands pack, marten and indian monkey would be cool though. I don't see them doing a pack like this. I think the only reason they brought back the region pack is because a lot of the animals people wanted were from Oceania so they decided to group them together to really emphasize Oceania getting an upgrade all at once. I believe South America will get this same treatment in the spring, but other than those 2 I dont believe any other specific area needs a pack dedicated to it. If they keep adding to the other 4 continents little by little I think thats the way to go, not region by region.

Honestly, given how needed birds are for this game, I wouldn't really care about which species as long as there are many species, as much as possible. I'm putting up here the bird meta-wishlist, one species from each of the first 25 groups would be amazing and barely enough at the same time.
OK.

An alternate Winter DLC would be the Northwest Pack, if they do a scenery pack. Maybe it won't be this year, but 2024.

NORTHWEST PACK (Northwest Theme: Northwestern America, Western Canada, Pacific Northwest scenery including totems and log cabins, maybe a bit of wild west stuff)

-Walrus
-Wolverine
-Musk Ox
-Sea Otter
-Snowy Owl (WE)

I would buy it in a single snap but calling this Northwest pack in reference of America is downright audacious when you know that walruses, wolverines, snowy owls and musk oxen are also found in northern Europe and Russia... it's better to give it a name related to the biome rather than a specific region. But this is a impressive line up. All these animals are quite high in my personal wishlist (walrus, wolverine and musk ox are all in my top 10-15).

Most of all I hope that birds will come! I know, we have birds but where are the flying ones? I'm sure that frontier is able to do that. With bats and Butterflies they had shown that.
Maybe a snow owl? Or Eagles?
Also I wish that they will bring fishes and marine animals, so that we can expand our zoos with aquariums.

I know I've said this several times already, and I'm not doing it to crush people's dreams, but I don't think making an aquarium pack would be a great idea unless Frontier decides to release a very large number of fish species. If the idea is to have an aquarium pack with just 5 species and it doesn't follow through, it's going to result in some pretty lame aquariums. Sea turtles and sharks might do the trick, but even then I'm skeptical.
In my opinion, you'd need a separate game for that: Planet Aquarium.

On the other hand, I still think that the arrival of birds in Planet Zoo is more than plausible.

True, but the name would refer to the pack's regional architecture as much as to the animals.

Given how cute sea otters are, Frontier is definitely going to add them at some point I'm guessing. And since sea otters don't live on dry land, calling it the Tundra Pack would be problematic.

I have a better Northwest pack:
  1. Barbary macaque
  2. Barbary sheep
  3. Egyptian mongoose
  4. Dorcas gazelle
  5. Common chameleon (E)

Focusing realistically on cuteness, marketability, limited number of unique rigs (only 1 monkey/flying bird allowed), this is what I think Frontier will do for the rest of this year and next year.

Hey so question. How would you feel if Frontiers new game turned out to be Planet Aviary?. They have surely heard a thousand people ask for birds by now, and they like to fill out niches that are unmet in the gaming industry....

Eh, I would feel it would be a bit of an awkward theme for a whole new game tbh. I guess there are facilities with birds only but usually they are part of a zoo, so unlike aquariums, which I think would be excellent for its own game, I feel like birds should just be part of the main zoo game.

I agree with this, I would be a tad annoyed that I couldn't add them into my zoos with complementary animals. I think aquarium or something else is more likely but I find it interesting to hear others thoughts too.

I feel the same as y'all: what'd be the point? It'd be like, what if Frontier released Planet Terrarium, and it's just to build a bunch of terrariums for small animals. I'd rather have it In-Game.

I think a Planet Aquarium is more likely

Could be pretty good if the focus is huge diverse aviaries with hundreds of birds, a large enough bird focus with mechanics solely around flight and walkthrough experiences would set it far enough from planet zoo and please the bird lovers.

It would only make PZ look bad for not having them when it’s literally a zoo game, which should have birds. Plus I think it would be really boring to build in, you’re either building open enclosures for cranes or closed in enclosures for smaller birds. Not interesting for me, if we don’t get birds in PZ, I would buy PZ2 with them.
