Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Wth have they been spending that $600M on?
If the public information available to us from the UK shell company is indication, about 10% goes strait into the coffers of the Roberts clan. If I were to speculate about the rest…
  • 10% goes into the Roberts Clan’s coffers
  • 20% was spent so the wastrel Roberts could pretend he’s a Hollywood A-list director, and “hang out” with famous actors and actresses
  • 20% so the fantasist Roberts could pretend he was a rockstar game developer, building lavishly decorated offices and holding expensive conventions to emulate genuinely successful game studios
  • 49% emulating Penelope at her loom when it comes to this game’s development and its assets
  • 1% actually developing this game
Each dollar is worth five normal development dollars my ARX…

Electricity bills has got to be pretty significant across all their studios.
I'm more willing to believe say 50% goes to developing the game but based on those ex-complyee reviews its 49% of doing things for months only to be told to do somthing else and what filters to the actual players is 1% of the budget.

You can say one thing Chris Roberts got right, he definitely found a niche he can thrive in.

Ok I played more 3,20 this morning and surprisingly seems that when CIG servers works as intended game actually performs better then in previous patches 'tho still there is a lot of issues....Also I notice that CIG finally repaired the internal storage bay on my 315P as I could finally leave the package there instead of moving it into the cabin as usual because it was broken I guess CIG only need something like 4-5 years to fix this bug.......

lol - I was expecting to see Spectrum happy about finally getting 3.20 - maybe not :)

Seems the re-jig of the PTU didn't help with testing at all. Almost like CiG just push what they want and don't care about the state of the game. Not like ppl weren't saying the build was broken in the PTU, and now it's broken the same way in Live - whodathunkit?

They are pushing exactly what they care about - ships and marketing. They have their priorities straight and act on them consistently. At the moment their audience seems to be souring to this practice but it may change with the con for Citizens.

It's not CIG's fault, they don't have time to focus on the PU or SQ42 when they are busy making some vertical slice unusable demo material for Citizencon. That's what they've been trained to do, by backers that will post the annual "Faith restored" threads and subsequently set the funding tacker alight.

It's like feeding a pet treats for doing bad things.

2nd day of release going well.
