Yeah I was actually wondering what specific region people had in mind for a Latin America Pack, I think Brazil would be a really cool focus. I would just switch the tamarin for a larger monkey like Spider Monkey or Howler. I love tamarins, but I want a larger monkey since we already have a small one.
For me personally, I'm using Latin America to describe all of Central and South America. Amazon-skewed but not specifically all Amazon species. The animal pack I had in mind had 4 animals found in Central America and South American (depending on the species), 2 that were found mostly in the Amazon area, and 2 that were found only in non-Amazonian South America.

While I like the idea of a scenery pack being focused on Central America, and I think the scenery idea of it would also be great, but I'd prefer getting more animals and no scenery on this one. But that's just me.

Just imagine the soundtrack of that DLC 😍
Exactly! I was also imagining that lol

I think is too good an idea to pass. Hope Frontier goes with it lol

We could get brother Central América with Caribbean theme and Amazon pack with Brazilian pieces lol
I can picture it: Planet Zoo theme, Bossa Nova remix

That'd be fantastic

Was there any new information found in the game files suggesting a “content 17” would be coming? I know that 15 (which we now know is Oceania), 16, and Anniversary 4 were added a while back.
No, but according to a report, the CEO of Frontier mentioned something about bringing in more DLC as long as it's asked for. So, this largely points to a possible 2024 run of DLC. Not 100%, but not an impossibility either

This wasn't the recent financial report, was it? I was fairly certain that the only mention of future Planet Zoo DLC there was that would continue into FY2024, which itself gives us 0 insight into anything beyond Oceania.

I don't know all the details, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but we already had confirmation about the anniversary and December DLC (some folders for those 2 were recently removed from the files)
Now, I doubt that the CEO would say that more DLC is coming if they only meant 1 more pack. Doesn't really make sense. So, it's likely safe to assume that we'd get at least 2 more DLC, potentially all 2024

Doesn't really make sense.
Whether it's the case or not, it actually makes perfect sense from a CEO's perspective. It promises something and nothing at the same time, which is pretty standard business practice. "More" can mean anything from one to infinity. The mistake people always make with regards to Frontier is that they act like it's a family friend, not a corporation out for money. They employ the same practices as any other business and only care about their consumers in so far as we exchange our money for their goods. This doesn't change just because we happen to be more invested in the future of this product than we are in other products from other companies.

I'm kind of leaning towards DLC for 2024 at this point, but it's important not to take anything a CEO says at face value. Their entire profession hinges on talking a lot and saying nothing at all.

Yup, I was a little unsure from the financial support, but what the CEO said definitely makes me suspect we'll see content in 2024 much much more. But you're absolutely right, gotta be cautious because it still business/PR speak. But I'm pretty sure we'll see at least one if not two packs next year. Expecting...maybe a little, but closer to suspecting. As you pointed out, they've actually promised nothing.

But overall the idea for this thread to exist makes sense. We've had DLC speculation threads be two releases out before Fall and Winter 2023, so this just continues the trend.

I've mentioned this in other threads, but Planet Coaster finished up in June. That's the first quarter of the new financial year. So there's really no obvious pattern.

Easter is a semi-safe bet, in that it would make sense from our limited perspective to finish out the financial year.

IMO it's pretty likely. Oceania isn't as much of a wildcard as we assumed, I think. Looking at the in-game continent tags, the only two that haven't had a DLC were Oceania and Central America, along with Asia as a whole. We've had South America, North America, Europe, and Africa.

I could say that the Winter DLC will be an Asia Animal Pack with a focus on the Himalayas northward (which would include the wolverine, markhor, so on) but part of me still thinks it will be a biome pack with a primary focus on Asia.
yeah I have had it in my head for a while now that they are following the ingame tags to make sure they cover everything The have already done at least 3 of the biomes as well aquatic, grasslands and tropical arid to me is like australia and south east asia where technically it covers the biome its just not named that so we may still see a desert pack.
I definitely see asia being a potential theme since alot of the animals people want especially for highlands are central asian animals.

Yeah the did a presentation on the recent financial report where they talked about the future basically confirming nothing except planet zoos making them alot of money and that they recognise that people are demanding packs and they like this.

especially how hyped he was that people still want more makes it clear that they probably wont stop unless they take a huge profit hit or lose investors interest
they recognise that people are demanding packs and they like this.
Again, though, this doesn't tell us much. "People" could be two persons or two million. How many "people" demanding packs is profitable? How few people demanding makes makes it unprofitable?

I think the point is that there's still demand. I doubt they'd say anything if they aren't planning on going for another year, to be honest. That doesn't seem very smart, marketing-wise
After see the video in financial report, I think Frontier is planning to make dlcs in 2024, but I am afraid next year is the final year

Marketing only matters if there's an audience. The main point is that according to all the reports we've had access to (financial report, Steam data) engagement with the game has been declining even with new DLC. There's always a spike, but overall there are less people playing and buying than there were to begin with. That's normal with any game.

We might get another year of DLC, or another half year, or only two more. We don't know the ins-and-outs of Frontier's finances. We don't know their overheads. All we know is that PZ is profitable right now.

Anyway, hoping and expecting are two very different things. I will always caution against expecting anything at all, because that's pretty much a self-own if you don't get what you want.

I agree it tells us nothing about what support will look like.
We have no idea how well the game is doing in frontiers eyes we have no idea if its meeting or exceeding expectation we have no idea what support will look like going forward All we truly know is that whatever is coming it wont be unexpected to frontier it wont be a sudden welp we have run out of funding so we have to stop it will have been planned whether that means the games ends spring next year or in 40 years who knows.

This forum is labelled speculation for a reason
