To celebrate our newest additions, weekly community poll, what are your favorite penguins AND favorite ratites?
For penguins, I have too many to list but Adelie and Rockhopper have always been faves. As for ratites, it's the headliner themself, the kiwi!

For penguins, I have too many to list but Adelie and Rockhopper have always been faves. As for ratites, it's the headliner themself, the kiwi!
For penguins I have always loved the African penguins, with Humboldt coming close for looking the same.
For ratites its hands down the kiwi, with cassowary coming close!
That watermarked art is really pushing my buttons, to be honest. I don't even know why
Now, about my favorite ratite, my favorite is the cassowary. And not because they look like a dinosaur or because they can kill me with a single swipe. It's just because they're different, period. The electric blue head, the casque, the jet black feathers. It looks like somebody just thought of cool features and mashed them together...
About penguins, I'd have to say the rockhopper. This goes back to Zoo Tycoon 2 Marine Mania, where the rockhopper was added into the game. I just loved it, thought it was so cool. And the name is pretty cool, too. Like, if I started a band, I'd name it Rockhopper

From the penguins I have to choose the Blue Penguin. I loved them since I was a child, and now seeing them in my favourite game is amazing!
And from the ratites, I have to choose the Greater Rhea. Apart from my literal profile picture, they were one of the first animals i saw in a zoo, they mean a lot for me.
Also, happy dlc launchment day!!! It's amazing to see 2 birds in a single pack. It gives me hope for in a future having flying birds (even with all of the negative look at this from other wishlists), we truly need more birds. These 2 are just the beggining!
Favourite Penguin: Jackass Penguin.

.I initially had the articuno logo, but from a commentary from the Fall Dlc 2023 (I don't remember of who) I changed to this one. It was a little manifest of our favourite animals, so i wasn't able to choose between this 2
Penguin: Emperor
Mostly because it's what I always picture when I think of penguins, the iconic shape and coloration. I also had a plush for years from my grandparents of an emperor so yeah.
Ratite: Cassowary
Literally a real life dinosaur. Now I'm not saying I'd ever like to be near one, hell no. But they are really cool.

But listen up you birdbrains, over HALF of you who participated in this thing of ours voted for the kiwi and can substitute it with, along with the little blue, for a new vote for another bird, so GET ON IT ALREADY.
Anyway, weekly community poll, they can't really fly, they're not that smart, but by God, we love them, what some of your favorite landfowl?
For me, quite a few are this picture including the Wild Turkey, Helmeted Guineafowl, Junglefowl (we stan Hei Hei) and our non-stop breeding, non-stop pooping, constantly getting sent to quarantine king, the Indian Peafowl.

I personally like the Indian peafowl. Up in the country, my great grandmother, and later my great aunt, had some peafowl, which were there for some 30 years, at least. The last one died from a shock because my dog (the clumsiest Newfoundland you could meet) got one and brought it to our trailer up there; she DID NOT crush it or anything, she just gently picked it up. My mom took him back, but he died a few days later.
I also love turkeys (hope for them to come to the game) as well as golden pheasants. The junglefowl is also a handsome bird. Another one I like that's not shown is the Australian brush-turkey, which I like because I grew up on Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, and there are some brush-turkeys you need to chase
