Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I'd love yaks, would be another domestic and one step closer to making a Children's zoo lol.

Since ungulates are the discussion, what is your most wanted ungulate species per continent?

Europe: Wild Boar
North America: Musk Ox
Asia: Reeves's Muntjac or Blackbuck
Africa: Aoudad, Dik-Dik, Impala, or Grevy's Zebra
South America: Guanaco or Vicuna

Both Americas would have been different last week, thanks again for the peccary lol.
Europe - wild boar, more or less by default
North America - white-tailed deer
Asia - takin
Africa - greater kudu
South America - Brazilian tapir

probably some controversial picks but i like what i like and need what i need

wait i'm not crazy, spongebob was just there, right? 😳
You aren't😅
He was a placeholder until I could find the video

@DarthQuell yeah the bighorn was meant as kind of a joke because I know they have a bit of a love/hate because they are so similar to the dall sheep. Personally about a month or two ago I wouldn’t have really wanted the bighorn. Lately I’ve been watching these guys on YouTube and I’ve really become a big fan. I really would love to see them in planet zoo! I know their similar to the dall sheep (which I love btw) but their like the dall sheep on steroids. I am definitely really rooting for there appearance.

I personally wouldn't be too upset if the takin were the last wild ungulate included in the entire game. For the others that get mentioned the most:

Markhor - would be neat, but fills a similar niche to the takin, which I prefer, and I think it's highly likely that we get it anyway.
Blackbuck - rare in the AZA, mostly a thing of private safari parks, but it seems to be much more common in Europe so okay
Musk ox - does poorly in captivity outside of very cold areas and is being phased out for the most part for this reason
Yak - wild yak has the same captivity issues as the wild water buffalo, would rather just have a highland cow than a domestic yak

My second choice would be either the markhor or a muntjac or pudu, and there are also only like five carnivorans total that I actively want, so ideally most of what's left would be habitat birds and to a lesser extent monkeys, rodents, and large habitat reptiles.

And building off this as a new conversation starter, Other than monkeys and birds, what is everybody's top 3 groups that they need for the game to cover most?
Canines, felines, and African antelopes...

Ok, seriously, I'd say:

  • Habitat reptiles that AREN'T crocs - tegus, monitors, and tortoises. Basically, 1 tortoise (African spurred), 1 tegu (Argentine black-and-white), and 1 monitor (perentie)
  • Cattle - gaur, yak, wisent, banteng, ankole-watusi
  • Caprids - mountain goat, auodad, bighorn sheep, musk ox
