There are only 2 animals I think we’ll get that are essential for NA and that’s ABB and Wolverine.

It‘s not neccisarily essential per se, but I think that we need a common backyard deer species. Besides, Europe already has 2 and they’re still clamoring for more.Please tell me why you think White Tailed Deer is essential

We aren’t clamouring for any more deer at all
we’re clamouring for an ungulate that ISN’T a deer. Literally anything else. A Wisent or Muskox would be ideal. The only deer I want now as a European player are North American and Asian species. Wapiti, Pere David’s Deer, Reeve’s Muntjac…
Looking at the NA mammal roster in a vaccum (and from my non NA viewpoint ) a classic deer seems to me like the most obvious open niche.
And the white tailed is to me the most appealing canditate honestly, they look the most distinct from the red and fallow and cover the most ground, not just in NA but they also range into SA

I feel like an elk would be a bit cooler though. Idk the white Tailed deer just feels a bit similar to the Fallow but just, the NA version.
Elk is also more useful for general NA collections, its quite difficult to find white tailed deer in any sort of major zoo.
The white tailed deer is ok, but I agree with @YesIndeed , I would rather have the elk/wapiti. I think it's more majestic.

The white tailed deer looks significantky distinct from the fallow amd is very easily distinguished by the fact that they dont have spots, are brown not orange, have a white snout and in the case of the males have very different antlers with the fallows shovels.
Doesnt help your argument that its a white tailed fawn and an adult fallow female your comparing, as the adults do in fact look distinct

Everything else like Musk Ox, Possum, Bobcat, White Tailed Deer, Bighorn etc are all fine but they don't add anything that new to the game or for NA.

A better comparison of the white tailed vs fallow deer:
Cause NA doesn’t have any interesting birds (imo).
We could have a choice of these habitat birds:
- American Flamingo
- Roseate Spoonbill
- Snowy Egret
- Brown/White Pelican
- Trumpeter Swan
- Whooping Crane
- Wild Turkey
- Canada Goose
