Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

Id say its propaply overestimated as a cheatcode because of the sheer time volume it would take, being only viable at a small scale and honestly who cares there
One of the major benefits would be that if keeper traverseable area sucks cause yk no doors the player could do that and fill up enritchment and clean by hand in for example a shelter, which would be a very usefull quality of life feature, eventhough being able to toggle hit boxes on objects would do the same job more clean and for both animals and keepers.
My main concern would be the actual development time and cost going into such a barebones minigame that is interesting for maybe 10 minutes and afterwards only used to cheat, but its requested, people would love it and it would defenetly add a small distraction to the games lacking gameplay loop so honestly who cares, its propaply among the better features left to add that wouldnt be either huge or a major management overhaul (eventhough i really do would love an overhaul to deepen pretty much every ingame aspect of the management side of the game as its pretty ignoreable or just cheating)
yeah i dont get the whole its cheating argument because once your zoo is a certain size you cant keep up any more its only really useful for small zoos also if its a tool the game gives you that everyone has access to how is that cheating.
For me it would mainly help with immersion since I love the idea of small start up zoos with the idea that the founder may have to help a little
It is also a bonus that it could let things like enrichment items on climbing frames islands or otherwise keeper inaccessible areas be managed.

This is gonna sound completly insane but i genuinly believe that paths dont need fixing.
Yes i know, but hear me out
The path system, as irritating and annoying as it can be, is surprisingly flexible ones you learned to use it.
Once you actually use controll to place path in tricky places and got used to terrain tools, you can do lots of things with it.
I mean look at this.
This is an s shaped layerd pathway across 3 different elevation heights on small room and it worked. I thought stuff like this was impossible until i discoverd the controll "trick" and thats the real problem with the path system, that it isnt properly explained to you. If you actually know that you can use controll to manually put paths and easily manipulate its height and placement path work suddenly becomes so so much less frustrating and efficent even for complex pathways, but when did i learn that?
After 350 hours from a leaf video. Thats genuinly unacceptable and terrible game design and i just wish it would show you more clearly with a little note showing up when using the path system or whatever

Now for actual changes i just got 2 as otherwise i genuinly believe the pathsystem is allready really good.
1. Narrower paths, more precisly 3 and 2 meter are a must and would delete most issues allready as narrower paths are allways easier to work with
2. A filling feature where you can outline a plaza or whatever and fill in gabs between your paths aslong as the terrain allows it

With those 2 additions and a better tool tipp for controll we would be golden regarding the path system

Since your talking about fully aquatic animals, how come Beluga Whales lifespan is shorter in captivity & which Sharks would you like to see? Sorry if what I asked you just now is redundant.
reef or sawsharks mainly no white or deep sea sharks as they cant even reach adult status in captivity.
like many cetaceans especially whales keeping beluga in captivity is pretty harmful to there health just about halving their lifespan the only cetaceans I would want to see in planet zoo is dolphins since they do reasonably well but that does mean that planet zoo players wouldnt go feral for orcas and belugas.

By the time a player reaches thousands of hours, one realises the pathing really isn't that bad. Sure it still has its frustrating moments but taking time to watch all those advanced pathing videos on YouTube really pays off. Making small 1-3m metre paths using the queue path trick, filling gaps in plazas using scenery pieces colored to the path, using mulch pieces and breeze trim blocks to improve edges and mastering the technique for angled and elevated paths makes one's zoo look average to really good.

Yes but it really shouldnt be needed and truthfully i didnt watch all that.
I watched a single 10 min video and the thing that really changed everything was just knowing that pressing controll while placing paths does something, something that could also easily be a tooltip

I really only need 2 things when it comes to paths:

1. Smaller Width paths (2m-3m) cause even though I can do the que path trick it takes so long to do and it’s annoying so I just don’t bother.
2. Terrain + Paths. The ability to move terrain when there is a path on it. I’ve tried flattening out an entire section of my zoo and I had to remove every path before it worked. Frustrating.
3. Flexicolour Base Path. Just make the original grey path Flexicolour, it can make builds so much more unique.

Other than that I have no problems with the path system.

I have to disagree with you I installed free build just to make the pathing at all bearable.

there are 2 main reasons the paths suck one is that they actually suck the other is that the building system is not beginner friendly.
the biggest reason the paths suck is collision they are so hard to move around because even if you turn terrain destruction off paths still cant be placed on or within 2m of the water still edit terrain and still have issues with barriers and facilities. Another reason is how it auto fills and the difficulties that is making plazas because unless its square your out of luck trying to give it any shape and not have giant path transition zones. Also with auto fill trying to get a path to curve the correct way from a building to a path is really hard if the gap isnt in neat 4m intervals.

I think the paths need better collision detection, the ability to paint in plaza sections and the ability to set a start and end point for paths to allow for easier multipath connections and just get rid of the auto fill entirely i have never had it do something i approve of.

Most of those collision issues should be manageable by using the controll method and adding the path after terraforming but before building fences or faculities and you should be good to go

I want to say 'um acktually' but then I do realise not everyone has been fighting with the paths for 6 years straight to finally bypass all these issues.
