Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

Isn't it usually 2 weeks?
Between the two? By my recollection is that it's kinda been all over the place depending on how things are going that year for JWE2. It's been within the same 5-day period, within two weeks, and sometimes there's literally no overlap. But the JWE2 rollout tends to be a lot quicker than those for Planet Zoo.

So there's a chance this next update and DLC could be out for JWE2 before the Planet Zoo announcement.

Big thanks! And welcome back DarthQuell! Yep, it’s been “But Frontier HATES ___!”, birds, and the usual Mountains/Highlands/Domestics/SA.
I think South America needs more animals more so than we need a mountains expansion, but I also feel like a mountains expansion would be more thematic for winter.
Y’know, points made once before.
And I like the idea of a domestics pack, just because sometimes I enjoy the mundane. I had a sheep ranch with wolf “sheepdogs” once.
A farm pack isn't bad, I'd love it. But to compromise for those who don't want it, they'd have to be more exotic specimens, like watusi cattle.
Do the Watusi with Lucy, y'all
Teasing JWE2 this week with Planet Zoo the next week feels appropriate.
Typically, yeah. It feels like only 3 weeks ago we got the anniversary gift...
Bins? They had flying and fully aquatic animals but didn't have bins and benches? 🤯
People aren't as smart in JWE universe. After all, when Lucy the Velociraptor escapes, guests run away from her by running into her cage. Then I repair the fences because you can't rescue guess like you could in Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, so they get eaten.
5 stars

That sounds fun. I need a video of that lol

Sounds like me playing ZT2, haha. Every zoo must end in an escaped T. rex, otherwise was* it even a zoo?

It makes you wonder, though, who's smarter: JWE guests or Planconians?
Planconians phase through objects and then run away from tiny animals, but they stay on path
JWE guests don't phase through objects and they run into dinosaur enclosures

Same, but with ZT1. ZT2 I wanted to be a real deal zoo manager, but in 1 I'd rename a guest to some person I didn't like, like Justin Bieber (I was 11, so about 11 years ago, but I have find memories) and put them in the shark tank

My thoughts exactly! But I’m trying to temper my hope so I stop getting in a cycle of: “BIRDS ARE COMING! Oh wait no they aren’t. This is cool too.” Wash, rinse, repeat, for the past 3 years :(
For the past 3 years?? I'm pretty sure back then people were more focused on getting capybaras and sea lions into the game than birds. Like the "birds are coming" got traction with twilight because of the bats, or am I missing something here...

Right?!! This run is always goes by super quick! Part of it is probably because its a busier time of year in contrast to the summer months but the anniversary drop helps too, I'm sure!
I agree, except that the anniversary actually did come 3 weeks ago and I was tryna make a dumb dad joke🤦🏼‍♂️🤣

I’ve always hoped for more birds, back when I got the game in 2020 I really wanted owls. I joined the forum this year I think, I used to post on Reddit before that. As I got more comfortable I began getting more vocal. I think the community as a whole got more into “where birds” during twilight like you said. Especially because many of the popular mammals were already in game so many people began looking at other animal groups. Also because of the bats if it wasn’t obvious enough.

The lack of birds has been a sore spot for me in this game, and while I have given up on flying birds I still have hope many habitat birds can be added. It’s just for years I kept on hoping we would get a bird pack, or a pack with more birds in it. Until Oceania I think the average was 0-1 birds per pack. I’m just feeling burnt out over it, and trying to still enjoy the game while tempering my hope :)

I agree with others though, I think it’s possible something is coming. I’m just not trying to get myself excited chasing ghosts.

It was always in the mix but was never really at the forefront of discussions because it didn't feel so feasible (I recall quite a few "habitat vs. exhibit" debates on both the forums and via Discord).

But you're right that it really picked up traction with the Twilight pack because there were literal flighted animals in-game at that point. So everyone assumed: What's the logical next step? BIRDS!

Pretty soon Frontier’s gonna drop a birdemic on us and leave, is the hope.
I do think that it's interesting, though.

Back then (a couple years ago, I mean), when Frontier wasn't planning on adding something, they'd say "We have nothing to announce right now".

However, when it came to requests for birds, those messages were ignored (I don't mean that they ignored them, but that they didn't directly respond). Frontier has really shown that they listen to the community (at least the PlanZo community), so what is up with the bird demand? It's obvious they see it, but are they keeping it a surprise for us? Or are they gonna bring birds in slowly? Because they haven't given us the "We have nothing to announce" message regarding them, so it does make you wonder a bit
