Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

This is the week where I stay up waaaay too late, hoping for an announcement. I’m always wrecked by the time the DLC announced! It’s 11:30pm and I have to be up at 5am, but I’ll wait a couple more hours just in case… Any other way-outside-the-timezoners doing the same?

Hopefully they announce tomorrow or earlier!

I’ll be pretty happy with the Eurasia pack, the only downside is no baboon or bear.
Very true, but either way I think this could be pretty cool:

  1. Wolverine
  2. European otter
  3. Wild boar
  4. Golden Takin
  5. Markhor
  6. Mandarin Duck
  7. Golden Pheasant
  8. Exhibit animal: Chinese/ Japanese giant salamander
Though with a highlands pack there would be more international appeal, which is what I generally like. Also no monkey or bear :(

All I know is:

“All I want for Christmas is you, BABYYYYYYYYY” 🎄🎅

Putting my two cents in on the otter discussion a few pages ago--it's pretty much just a proxy for whether you're from North America or Europe/Asia. From my perspective as someone who lives in the Northeastern US, almost every zoo of every size has North American river otters and they're often the linchpin of children's zoo or local wildlife sections. So they're very important to me but do nothing for people not from the US or Canada, and vice versa for the Eurasian river otter.
Ah, another New England resident?

You know, this is actually a really good lineup. I’m in!

What’s everyone’s one guess as to what we’ll get in the update? Since that’s probably what we’ll hear about first.
If we're getting Mountains DLC, (presumably with at least one new caprine) then maybe the free update could introduce new behavior - playful fights in bachelor groups. Fighting is already very nicely animated, it would be great if we could enjoy those animations without getting the animals injured. It would also give us a good reason to keep bachelor groups in zoos.
I am pretty optimistic but at the end I do not care so much about the actual animals WE get. The highly discussed Packs (Mountains, Latin America, General Taiga/Tundra pack) will surely Bring at least 2-3 animals which are higher on my priority Wishlist. And that is a good value in my opinion. And with the other animals I also can Work. The only Packs I personally do not want to have are fully Marines or fully exhibits Pack (even If the fully exhibits have Flying birds) but I doubt this will happen. Every other Standard Pack cannot let to disappointment for me personally. Perhaps I am easy to please 😃. But I really do Not mind another Cat (There are 2-3 further Cats I really would Like to See within the game), bears (I am even the opinion that it is time for a new one) or Dog (Bush Dog would be a really cool addition. It Looks so different compared to all the other bigger dog species).
I feel pretty much the same! :)

I don’t know about you guys, but I think the next DLC will be a pack with animals in it. Call me crazy, but all signs seem to point to it.
Last pack was scenery so yes everyone is expecting an animal pack, nothing crazy about that.

Also besides the scenery-animal-scenery-animal pack pattern for the last 2 years there are no signs of what we will get.

This would be even better if we got a baboon.

Can you really blame me when people have said far worse things completely serious 🥺

Example: Eurasian otter would be a good pick
Some of us have already accepted that the DLCs come with a mix of animals that require much work to create and animals that are easy "clones". So thinking that a cold otter like the Eurasian or North American is a good pick is nothing silly. I honestly prefer a third otter with a new biome than a 4th grasslands gazelle or a 4th penguin or a third South American caiman.
