Even with the wrong sloth, I would personally put all of the packs this year in the higher tiers of pz dlcs. Ok arid might be more towards the middle, but still.

We are like a dozen pages from the fall speculation thread and nothing has even been announced yet
Probably. We haven't even gotten any news on what the DLC actually is. Once we have confirmation, the discussion will probably continue as everyone gives their takes on each animal we're getting.
I still think it has to be a Highlands Pack. Maybe Tundra or Temperate, but those are less likely imo. Maybe Frontier will throw us a curveball and it'll be another tropics-themed pack but I doubt it.

- Pallas' Cat (high)
- Barbary Sheep (50/50)
- Mouflon (pretty much zero)
- Ethiopian Wolf (next to zero but higher than mouflon)
Great: Lar gibbon, fossa, red river hog, porcupine, addax, dromedary
Good: Black rhino, sand cat, dama gazelle, peccary
Fine: Wild ass, Tasmanian devil, kiwi
Questionable: Water monitor, quokka, little blue penguin
Disappointing: literally every exhibit species this year
I think 2023 has been the game's weakest year, which to an extent is simply the natural outcome of nothing left being able to compare with the absolutely essential bangers of prior years such as kangaroos, penguins, otters, meerkats, capybaras, sea lions, and leopards. Still, this year's list does manage to come out top heavy, with higher highs than lows, but I still can't help but have a negative opinion of the year overall. It's probably a mix of continuous "so close"s regarding South America, monkeys, and my top 5 species (tree kangaroos missed out twice!), as well as the last two packs being my personal least favorite (Oceania) and probably the community's overall least favorite (Arid) leading to extended weird vibes. There's a lot of opportunities for our winter pack to turn things around and end on a high note, though, so I'm optimistic. As long as it's not polar/tundra/taiga themed, all of the other commonly discussed themes (mountains, temperate, South America, probably Eurasia as long as it's less Eur- and more -asia) all sound fantastic. Here's hoping!

Highs of this year:
- Sand Cat
- Wild Donkey (wrong species but still cool)
- Oceania Pack animals are cool
- Scenery and Foliage all awesome! (except the idols)
- I actually like the Dama Gazelle.
I'd say, as long as we'll get the Kitteh, I'm fine with everything, buuuut... I would love to get the Tibetan Fox. The Ethiopian Wolf would be nice, too (I loved them in ZT2).
