Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

Haha imagine if "discover" turns out to be a safari pack.

  • African leopard
  • hamadryas baboon
  • secretary bird
  • Nile crocodile
  • golden jackal
  • African spurred tortoise
  • serval
  • black mamba

Would you be mad? I like the animals but I feel like I'd be mad
It'd be arid all over again where I only care about 2 animals in it and will never use the rest. But instead of the porcupine and Dromedary it's the Secretary bird and baboon.

One second it’s a monster that terrifies children, the next it’s majestic. What’s not to love.

Um...that pic you posted, the majestic one?

Sometime back I checked on the speculation threads from period before NA and EU packs. I numbered all the animals mentioned in speculations and wishlists, and kept number of those that didn't yet appear in PZ. Here's the shizo calculus:

I also skimmed META Wishlist and Nexus looking for similar animals:

Now this is all if we're still expecting that NA/EU coverage this DLC. Assuming that, top 5 NA animals back then: Wolverine, Musk Ox, Peccary, Walrus, Snapping Turtle...

And we got Peccary last month.

This pick of animals correlates with those in Top 25 of META Wislist (back then!), which are: Wolverine, Walrus, Musk Ox

Musk Ox
also appears in Top 5 pages of most popular Nexus Mods. Also back then. Wolverine and Walrus miss out on that.

Could the Musk Ox be the dark horse face of this month possible cold weather pack?

Oh and their comment on the live stream announcement "see what we can discover together?" SCREAMS educational/museum.

Obviously just speculation on my part but one can hope lol
This is one of only 3 themes that would actually excite me so I really hope that it is.
They do have a trend recently of saying a word that hints to the livestream. “Shaking things up” was last time, then we got the margarita bar.

“Discover” means 2 things to me as to what the theme could be. The obvious choice is a museum pack which I would label has the “Classics Pack” with the most iconic animals left. Baboon, tree roo, etc. with classic modern pieces including the museum stuff.

For my other option (more likely option), I realize that discover could really mean any biome, but I feel like they would use it for mountains cause they haven’t been in cold climates nor mountains yet this year or last year. Therefore they are “discovering” the mountains, maybe on a hike in the livestream.

“Discover” definitely means that they are travelling in the livestream, like tropical pack livestream. I don’t think it’s anything like LA because it would be the same as the tropical pack livestream.

Overall, discover = travelling through a biome
Can’t be a biome we’ve already have, therefore, mountains is still the most likely, or at least that’s my take on it.
discover just means so it could be almost anything
  • it could be exploration style similar to tropical hinting at a biome pack or maybe a region like the amazon.
  • they could also do it documentary or research style where we are looking at camera traps or snippets of footage

it is an extremely broad statement that could mean anything I think it is almost guaranteed to be a warmer pack based on the comment made in the replies to the gift shop teaser emphasising the sun as well as the post itself.
