Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

maybe not the emoji itself but I see no reason for both the gift shop post and the reply they made to it to mention the sun if it is not at all relevant.
It is winter in europe and the north hemisphere so the wrong season to be talking about sun leading me to believe they are just using as a soft redirect away from cold climate pack speculation.
I read that reply as a coy, shrug of a "I dunno what you're talking about (LOL wink wink)" reply rather than having any actual meaning...

But it's interesting to me that people are jumping straight to assuming it's a hint for the DLC rather than for the update itself. When I look at that emoji and the image (note the shadows) my mind immediately jumps to being able to control the position of the sun a bit more. I kinda feel like it's that or just an emoji that felt write to whoever was typing that tweet at the time.

Anytime Frontier has hinted at anything on social media it's always been pretty simple (by design, I'm sure). But the sun is so ubiquitous that you can apply it as a 'hint' for pretty much any pack they announce with the right logic.

Here are some of my guesses on what animals could be included because I'm bored lol.

  1. Spectacled Bear (#9 on the 2023 META List + easy to make "clone" + I think this guy is the big stuffed animal hiding in the window of the Gift Shop screen shot + SA Only Bear + A Highland Animal)
  2. Greater Rhea (#20 on the 2023 META List + easy to make "clone" + it's a bird + completes the Ratite family (not counting other subspecies}) or Andean Flamingo (easy to make "clone" + it's a bird)
  3. South American Coati (#1 on the 2023 META List)
  4. Vicuña ~or~ Guanaco (Both are easy to make "clones" + Highland Animals)
  5. Pudu (Kind of an oddball pick + we need a smaller deer species and this guy would fill the slot nicely)
  6. Andean Mountain Cat (easy to make "clone" of the Sand Cat)
  7. Black Howler Monkey (#9 on the 2023 META List + New World Monkey)
  8. Macaws [WE] (Just wishful thinking lol)
  1. Spectacled Bear (#9 on the 2023 META List + easy to make "clone" + I think this guy is the big stuffed animal hiding in the window of the Gift Shop screen shot + SA Only Bear + A Highland Animal)
  2. Pallas's Cat (Had a good amount of votes on the 2023 META List + easy to make "clone")
  3. Markhor (#11 on the 2023 META List + was in Zoo Tycoon)
  4. Takin (#6 on the 2023 META List)
  5. Vicuña ~or~ Guanaco (Both are easy to make "clones" + South American Animals)
  6. Wolverine (#6 on the 2023 META List)
  7. Alpine Marmot
  8. ??
I may be back with more ha ha
I'm loving both of these lists (though I'd swap out the pudu or the rhea for the tamandua and the mountain cat for the ocelot, and the marmot for the tree kangaroo, but that's not why I'm replying LOL)...

You raise a good point about the "big stuffed animal" in the teaser image. It could also just be a gorilla or something. But I'm honestly a little surprised more people aren't talking about it (probably because it's pretty vague looking). It's one of the first things I noticed in the image! Haha.

Didn't see the original post here but I assume we got the same object in mind.
I believe it is one of the big wooden panda statues

We talking about this?

I guess it could be read as coy good point but also on the idea that its hinting to better sun movements I doubt that would be significant enough to really mention but I guess it is possible.

The tierpark berlin has a really great one. They display snowleopard, takins, markhor, kiang, red panda, francois langur (for some reason), bearded vultures and a couple more that im probably forgetting
The other species are white-lipped deer, blue sheep, Central Chinese goral, tufted deer, Marco Polo sheep, Siberian ibex, Pere David's rock squirell, white-eared pheasent, temminck's tragopan, silver-eared leiothrix, gray-cheeked liocichla, blue magpie and Himalayan monal.
So Berlin's Himalaya section really stands out species wise. I don't think there is a similar Himalaya area with so many rare species in another European zoo. Also, they have two takin species in the Himalaya area, don't forget about this.
It would be great to have a few of those species in PZ as well.

You can always upscale and enhance image to make something clear.
1. This is definitely giant panda statue.
2. Something black and white in background. Zebra, panda? I dont know.
3. This looks like glass part of payment terminal from shop counters. Would also mean this particular gift shop is wide.
4. Purple cap with yellow visor?
5 and 6. Weirdly shaped toys that guy from reddit was talking about yesterday. For personal interpretation.
7 and 8. Spider and wild dog hats.

I briefly got excited and thought the rhino hat was markhor mask for some reason

With this lineup alone TP Berlin is worth the visit, but they just had to be even cooler and have so much more. I want to go so badly.
