Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I’m gonna wait to give further opinions until the actual pack is announced, depending on the announcement it may sway how excited I am for the pack. Either way, I I’ll state how I feel about the current animal roster:

  1. Sloth bear. Honestly kind of cool, I like bears a lot. Personally wanted a Spectacled Bear or ABB over it but hey, cool dudes. 7/10
  2. Wolverine. Cool mustelid, I personally wouldn’t use it much but it’s still a solid 8/10 for me.
  3. Saiga. 5/10, very cool animal! I personally see me using this one the least, which is why I have it rated so low. But it is such a cool looking animal I think it has a place in game. If the titan beetle and proboscis monkey do then so does the Saiga.
  4. Takin, 10/10 for me. Probably the mountain animal I wanted the most.
So overall not the worst! Certainly a lot to look forward to. My problem will rely on how diverse the rest of the pack is. I personally don’t want any other ungulates from this pack, but if it’s the muntjac or peere David’s deer I would actually be happy. Like wise I would feel the same if I got a monkey or baboon.

Depending on how tomorrow goes I may have a very long post about the bird thing. As of right now I am still hopeful we might get one, and if it’s a long shot, maybe two. I mean here are four guys perfect for this pack:
  1. Golden pheasant
  2. Mandarin duck
  3. Demoiselle crane
  4. Himolayan monal
Do I think we could get a bird WTE? No. But man, I would LOVE the Indian cobra.

I am very excited for modular gift shops, they look amazing! So I will check in with y’all in the morning when the pack is announced. Regardless of my personal opinions, I know the animals will be amazing and I will probably get it regardless.

Wow, I just saw someone mention the Chinese alligator. Thoughts? Seems like a Frontier move. I would really love them to be honest, feeling like I'm the minority though...

The difference between ABB and Sloth Bear is Not that big (according to the Meta Wishlist which should at least be very accurate according to bears as we did Not get a new Bear species after the list started). And this perhaps depends on the NA Player. I can Just speak for myself but I would Like to See all 3 remaining bear species and the Sloth Bear was my number 2 (behind Spectacled Bear). And I really do Not mind in which Order they come to the Game.

I actually like that it got added (if the speculation is correct). I myself hope for the last 2 species to make it in-game somehow, and I'm sure that, in a way, demand for the other bear species will be higher

Gifts shops will be completely modular and flexicolour unsure whether the props are also separate items but you can select what is sold.

Probably (I mean possibly 😃) we could get Sloth Bears carrying their Babies. It was mentioned by describing the Sloth Bear. Opening the box For Anteater and other species to get this behaviour with this or a further Update (I think it is Not that easy to give new mechanics to older animals. The Orang Utan brachiation for example has much too Low Reputation as Update Feature).

I really have my fingers crossed for a langur or macaque! I know it's super unlikely but we've been literally begging Frontier for months for primates, and specifically monkeys! I'll still be hyped for this pack regardless but gosh, I'll lose my mind for one, especially the unlikely Francios's langur.

They live on top and around limestone caves/cliffs in temperate/subtropical rainforests, one of my favorite biomes! (Look it up if you haven't seen it) Would love to build a habitat centered around a faux rock cave with stalagmites/stalactites. The bright-green foliage against light gray rocks would be so pretty! They have a cool conservation story too.

I think the Spectacled Bear is only a Matter of time. It is the last really big SA animal in my opinion (Hope this is Not understood wrong. There are surely some further "Zoo Essentials"). And then why Not just fullfill the bears species with the last one?

i think the orang update is pretty cool. But it gets kinda pulled down by the fact that the orangs are just orange gorillas

There's no way Frontier is not aware that we want it. It was mentioned in 99% of the Alpine Animal Packs people have made. It's coming granted we still get DLC next year

we have no confirmation if that will be how it behaves ingame or if that ability is transferable to other animals if its only the sloth bear its not relevant to the free update anyways
