What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Time flies by when your having fun and after an hour of "im gonna quit now im gonna juuuuuuust add this little detail" i could finally detach myself from the game and let my creative muscles relax.
My current big project is a double enclosure for takin and wild boar, both with their seperate enclosures themed after them with a gate inbetween to connect or close them of from each other.
While researching a bit for a shelter, i read in the news from a local zoos that while rebuilding their takin habitat they are adding the possibility to seperate their enclosures, in case of maintainance work or other renovations, so i thought hey if im allready combining their shelters why not let each other in the other habitats?
Wouldnt have thought id be building mix exhibits for the two, but they seem to like each other and enjoy the others space so who am i to judge?

So far the fencing is done completly and the boars terraforming and pathing aswell with the detailing for ~half their habitat also being allready done.
There are multiple distinct viewing angles, this one is from the lower viewing platform.

This one from up the pathway with a great look onto the wisent on the other side of the river and both their mud and forage enritchments (yes you can burry them and they still work, the more you know)

Or this one from their shelter with a good look on the seperation gate and whats beyond it.

Overall building for the boar is a ton of fun as these semi forested underbrush habitats with a mix of highlight points, meadows and shrubs are my favorite kinds of habitats to build, especally when they are tucked into the side of a hill like this one.

For other stuff i did, i quickly finished of my lamas by giving them a faux rock backwall and capping of the water with a few logs. Extremly happy with their habitat, super basic and simple but it gets the job done and i had a great time building it, just a pleasent experience all around.

But now that the lamas are done and the takin habitat is marked out im left with a nice space inbetween where i dont know what to put in it, any suggestions?
It will mark the swap from south america to cold climate/mountainous asia thematicly with takin (and wild boar) on the left, lamas (and hopefully one day maras) on the right and the unfinished spec bear habitat + maybe another smaller habitat or aviary as well as a restaurant and plaza area behind it.
I thought about cougars, asiatic black bears and wolverine, but as im building for a bear right next to it and will include snow leopards and maybe siberian tigers in asia, idk about the first two and the wolverine might be a bit small for a habitat that will have such a frankly pretty far and bad view from the visitors, so id be glad to hear any suggestions, both in game and realistic choices that could come down the line (or exist as gods with m).

Anyways that would be my update for today, hope you all are enjoying the new pack as much as i am!

No animals yet, but I returned to an old project and did some work on the entrance and service buildings.

The large wooden pillars on the tickets building are to hide the giraffes on the information counters (no giraffes in this zoo). It would be great if we had a more versatile design.

Which reminds me, it would be great if in the future we got some updates that allow more varied gift shop products. At the moment I'm not sure if I will build a shop as we don't have many items that would be suitable for a zoo like this.

I did a lot. Finished my Entrance Area. I've finished both Fox Enclosures and planted Trees around them. After that I've created a really nice looking Butterfly Garden with a Butterfly House in the Middle. The last Thing I did for the Entrance Area was to build a really big Crane Enclosure in a Ravine. At the End of the Bridge that leads over it, I've started to build the Petting Zoo. So far there are only Water Buffalos but it'll definitely also get Llamas in a Walkthrough Enclosure. Really wish we had more proper Petting Zoo Animals😕

It looks awesome. Excited to see more.
I agree with the Gift Shop Situation. Hope we'll get Souvenirs for more Species and that they can fix the Problems with it in the next Update

Welp I built a gift shop on my save and don't have a backup, now I'm away from my PC for a few weeks. I really hope my save will be fine, what is the chances of it breaking?
Right now it seems around 60-40. I was lucky enough to not have my save corrupted, but a lot of other people have.

Not great odds then, I wonder, if I don't open it until a new patch would it be more likely to fix? I don't really know how it works or if it's already too late. If my save gets corrupted I honestly will probably lose a lot of interest in the game for a while.

If the save was fine, I suggest do not opening it until an update confirms the issue has been fixed. The corruption seems to occur on loading the zoo after a few days of building the shop, however there is no guarantee the save is safe.

After a lot of building, demolishing and rebuilding, I can finally share the next habitat for Zoha Twenthe. You've seen the new gift shop "Zohamorto" and now you can see a lush habitat build next to it. The pink donation bin might give the inhabitants away.

Hmm.... two ways to view the colorful but also loud animals, where to watch 'em first?
Oh I see some inside, so let's go there first!

This is the indoor building for the Greater Flamingo's. The original plan was a concrete and glass building that would be easy to maintain and yet have a classic look too it.
But after trying that out a few times, I wasn't happy with it. So I tried this more natural indoor space and I really dig this.

Next to the indoor view, you can also check the Flamingo Lagoon. It looks so lush, I bet it's a real Flamingo Paradise. I got a bit of inspiration from the Little Mermaid Lagoon (Shalalalala my oh my, looks like these birds won't fly)

Here's the view from the other path, the boardwalk that gives you a nice private time with these long-legged birds.

Don't know if it's enough to just close the Souvenir Shop but it turned out that they can corrupt your Save File, so I recommend to only use it after the next Update was released
