Huh, I never would have even noticed that. In an awful way Planet Zoo not being specific with subspecies or unique genetic lineages is pretty accurate to real zoos.I didn't know where else to post this but it is game related; does it bother anyone else that the dhole, that came in the Southeast Asia Animal Pack, is supposed to be the Ussuri dhole, i.e. the nominate subspecies, which doesn't occur in Southeast Asia, but rather Central China (historically in Manchuria, Korea, the Amur Valley, etc.)? Sometimes taxonomic clarification is good, and other times I wish they'd leave it ambiguous.
Congrats!Man everyone was posting baked goods, I wish I took a picture of the gingerbread cookies I made with my girlfriend. I didn’t have ground ginger so I had to chop up and try to mince a fresh one.
Also good news everyone I passed my finals!

Oh wow that's awesome!Guys I was recording some listening tests at the studio this week (for my job) and one of the voice actors was also the director of Baldur's Gate 3. I was so starstrucknoone else had a clue what we were talking about
she's kiwi and very cool. Also met the guy who did the voices for some of the thomas the tank engine characters and robocop
fun day away from the office!
I agree, love the kiwi accent! The tests I make feature accents from all over the world and I work on the US and NZ teams, so I hear a lot of them. Much nicer than the Aussie accent (sorry Aussies!) I always get Flight of the Concords songs / Eagle vs Shark quotes stuck in my head thoughOh wow that's awesome!
Honestly kiwis have the best accentSometimes when I'm with my friends we all do random accents and I always do NZ. I have one friend who can do like any accent that you can think of, I can only pull off UK, AU, NZ, and southern US. And sometimes I randomly get a Canadian accent for no apparent reason
Awesome! Where do you work? Just curious.Guys I was recording some listening tests at the studio this week (for my job) and one of the voice actors was also the director of Baldur's Gate 3. I was so starstrucknoone else had a clue what we were talking about

If you have any knowledge of the voiceover industry, got any recommendations for how one could break into it? I’m pretty good at silly/stupid voices, and I’ve been told that I’d be good at it.Well if you're good at voice work there are lots of interesting jobs in the games / tv industry. Voice actors are fun people!
Honestly I feel like the basic American accent is kind of boring. Maybe that's just because that's what I've grown up listening to all the time, or maybe it's just because its plain.I agree, love the kiwi accent! Boston and NY/NJ accents are definitely the most intimidating. Despite me being from Massachusetts I still can't manage to to do either!but my fave US accents are the brawny East Coast ones
Really? Interesting. It seems almost everyone I know can do one. But yeah, why are the supervillains always British?UK is a hard one for Americans to pull off, bravo! We're usually either Mary Poppins or a supervillain when we are coming from an American![]()
I've voice acted a few times for little stop motion films me and my friends made as kids, but that's about it. I don't think there's a lot of that being done around my area, more of a Nashville/Hollywood thing.Well if you're good at voice work there are lots of interesting jobs in the games / tv industry. Oh, I forgot to tell you about the dream I had last night!
So it started off where on the Forums me and @Captain Callum were having an argument on Pelicans, and then @DarthQuell got involved, and then I got off for the night, and then @Villanelle somehow found where I lived and was screaming something outside my house, then I somehow got to one of my local Theaters, and then something happened that I don't remember, and then I woke up.
That was wild.
Hahaha! I hope I was screaming in a...fun...way? Sorry for dream stalking youOh, I forgot to tell you about the dream I had last night!

Don't think I could call it between geese and pelicans, they both have their merits. I know who I'd take into battle with me tho.
