It makes sense, from a general players POV they see the nose and vote for it. The average person wants animals that are unique not paying attention to the captivity presence.

the only obscure in zoo animals I want is Shoebill and Walrus
I don't pay attention to the captivity thing either i just like blackbuck more. Is prettier and more useful. Haha
Saiga is a prime example of a meme animal, didn't deserve as high as it should of but because of the sensation around the animal due to it looking weird or even being called the star wars antelope gives it lots of attention.
I just wanted a Muntjac more, that's all, because the Saiga looks great.
Or, you know, people just like it because it's cool...

It took us this long to get just one Asian antelope. The chances of getting another one before support ends are slim, plus to frontier the rest aren’t audience attention grabbers. Then again the Dama Gazelle got in so…
Sigh... can we stop pretending we know anything about what Frontier thinks or when support will end? Because we obviously know nothing about either.
What's the problem with the Dama gazelle? I keep reading it as a weird choice but that gazelle is as common in zoos as the Nile lechwe or the Somali wild ass.
Probably because it's a relatively normal African Gazelle... which is already covered by the Springbok and Thompsons Gazelle.
With every DLC announcement there is always someone complaining that the inclusion of x animal means that we will never see y animal.
That simply isn’t true, we don’t know what they have planned and there are always surprises. No animal inclusion automatically results in the exclusion of another, that’s just not how it works.

Is there some Speculation when we'll most likely get 1.16.1?
I think someone mentioned somewhere (might've been YouTube) that it might be released today. Hoping that we'll get a Fix for the Souvenir Shop and most importantly for the extreme Server Problems multiple People have since at least yesterday (I've only had them since yesterday but other People seem to have them longer)

I'm not sure we will see any update this month, frontier should be on their winter break by now. Poor timing with all the game breaking bugs.
Disappointing. But of course they deserve their Break 
Just hope that the Server Issues will be over soon if they aren't already. Would be annoying to constantly disconnect from the Server until January
